Reviews for Yoga | Down Dog

really solid, always gives a good yoga session, and if you don't like a pose, you can mark that, skip it, and continue on. I love tweaking all the settings, playing around with different kinds of practice. it's been an invaluable learning tool for me as I try to deepen my yoga practice. it can't compete with a live instructor, but for the 15-30 minute sessions when I can't go to a class, it's an excellent tool.

I've used the free version every day for a month now. It really is a great app, and it was exactly what I needed to finally get into practising yoga regularly. While the free version has treated well, I'm finally getting the subscription-- mainly because it's been on sale for $15/year, and it's easy to justify roughly a dollar a month. I also want to support the developers, and give them less reason to further restrict the free version in the furture. Not sure I'd go for the regular price of $25/year, but I guess we'll see next year.

Worth the money. Believe me when I say I don't pay for apps. But after two rounds of yoga, I knew I had to have it. You can choose the timing, the voice coach, the music, the type of yoga, pretty much everything. The music is awesome and the ability select how long you stay in shavasana at the end is amazing. Invigorating and relaxing.

Edit: I cancelled this subscription in August and I was just charged for rewewal in December. I don't even have an account anymore. It shows no subscription listed under my Google account, but there's a charge on my credit card. I'm contacting my credit card company to have this removed. I began with the basic plan in 2016 and then purchased the full package. I loved all the options that it provided but especially enjoyed the Running app. I was really disappointed when it was discontinued.

I finished my 1st session of any type of yoga really(ish). At most 10 "sessions" in the last 10 yrs (I'm talking YouTube, part of a warm up, fitness course in college did it one day). Probably would classify as couch potato. 1st session was 15 minutes. I opted beginner & favored default recommendations during setup; different 'tranquil' male/female voices. Easy to follow visual & audio. Felt fast at first but super easy to rewind once or twice & then quick to pick-up. Worth a try for the price!

LOVE this app so far. So much customization to choose from based on your particular preference from day to day, like what area of your body you want to 'boost', the type of yoga, experience level, etc. I particularly appreciated being able to choose the voice, and the music is great, too, which is key. Definitely don't feel like I'm missing out by not going to a studio anymore with this app. Can't beat the price, too.

The app seems fine technically, but as a super beginner, I am so far finding this way too quick, even at a beginner level and by slowing transition speed down to slowest. I have not found anywhere good to put the screen where I can see it through multiple poses, and there are times that, by the time I've figured out what the instruction is trying to tell me what to do, they're moving onto the next pose and I have to stand up, study the pose, and the rewind and go back to previous.

I really like the ability to customize the length of the practice and what parts of the body you want to focus on. HOWEVER there are some major user interface issues that need to be addressed. The buttons for giving a pose a "thumbs up" are way too small. If I'm in the middle of a pose you expect me to be able to hit that tiny tap target?! They are also right next to the progress bar so when I miss it I accidentally jump backwards in my practice which is very frustrating. Please fix.

I would totally give 5 stars if this app didn't freeze so often, right in the middle of my workout...but it still deserves 4 in my opinion because of how many things I love about it. It's an amazing price for what you get (access to all of the other apps, which is so great!) That said, this particular one (yoga) freezes often and it's very frustrating. Sometimes I can't even get it to work again after closing and reopening the app. Please look into this and fix it so we can all enjoy it.

I love that they offer so many different ways to incorporate yoga. From beginner to more advanced, sitting, stretching, full on the floor. As well as many time frames to choose. It's all customizable. Anyone who is interested can ease into it and not be overwhelmed or intimidated. If you have limitations due to health or being overweight, there are many many sessions you can do too. I will not use any other app. And I will only recommend this one.

the practices are good, and I like the customization. but they advertise (on their own FAQ) that you can Chromecast the content, and you cannot. doing yoga from a tiny screen to the side of you is not good for form or comfort if you have to look at the screen for pose correction. but up at a large TV directly in front of you and a bit up, absolutely the safer, easier, more comfortable thing to do.

I never write app reviews, but I have to recognize how amazing both the app and the company are. I have fibromyalgia and am barely functional most days. My doctors wanted me to stretch 10 minutes a few times per day and meditate once per day and this app and the meditation one have been complete lifesavers. I especially appreciate being able to exclude exercises that my body can't handle. If I could give this app 10 stars, I would. Highly, highly recommended.

Awesome app, so adjustable to what you want from your yoga exercise, good tutorial that talks you through and demonstrates each exercise. Also explains where you should be feeling the stretch so you can know if you're doing the movement correctly. Lots of different settings for different abilities too. I would highly recommend this app!

I've used this app for a few years. I primarily use Yin sessions as a meditation to help me calm my mind and sleep. For some reason, when they re-recorded the instructor prompts, the instructors started speaking in a faster, more clipped tone. They used to speak in a softer tone that was more suited for a slow, meditative yoga practice. The old version is still available, which is better. Hopefully it remains available. The new version doesn't work well for me.

I've been using this app on and off for years now, but this past month or so, I decided to be more consistent. I feel the difference in balance and strength when I go paddle boarding or when I lay down and decide I want to just lay in a pose for a while to loosen myself up. The poses are customizable beyond anything I've seen anywhere else, and the UI is so intuitive. I recommend this to anyone interested in yoga, beginner to expert.

I've been supporting this app for about 7 years I think. Even after I became a student and could have gotten it for free, I continued to pay for it because honestly, they deserve the ~$20 a year. Every practice is so customizable, it's crazy. And since they now allow you to exclude certain poses, there's nothing more I could ask for. This is the best app I have, except maybe the one I use to read with 😆. I love love love Down Dog.

Genuinely my favorite (and only) yoga app! I love being able to choose yoga type, level of difficulty, hold lengths, transition speed, and how much instruction I get. I also appreciate the variety of music and voice choices. hands down though, my favorite part is the boosts! sometimes the tension is tighter in one area/body part and being able to focus on it makes for a unique and personalized experience that leaves me stress free and satisfied with my practice.

The content on this app can't be beat. So many options and you get the full suite of exercise apps if you are a paid subscriber. No cc needed for the trial either! The only issues are that the app is unstable. So it will periodically just stop working and you have to restart. Also, sometimes the model is not doing what the voiceover is telling you to do, but if you can deal with these things, highly recommended! They are always adding content so it's doubtful you'll get bored.

i used to do my yoga by watching YouTube videos, but i would easily get bored watching the same videos or hearing them say the same words for meditation when I didnt want it specifically. but with this app its SO customizable I never get bored because it never gives you the same session twice. you can choose your area of focus and there are so many options for types of yoga and stretches you can do, so I can accommodate my stretches to fit the day and my mood if i dont feel like going full out.

I don't ever rate any apps, but I just had to for this one, it's truly a perfect app. Straight up. Most awesome thing for any app to do.... they give it to you for FREE! A note says that if you can't afford to pay a subscription, to email them & they'll give you a year free. If you're a teacher or student, they'll give you 3 years free! You can pick fav poses and leave out those you don't like. You can also choose target areas for each session too! I'll never use any other app for yoga! GET IT!!
