love the physical game and love the app, not 100% the same but still amazing
Reviews for Ark Nova
← Back to Ark NovaLove the board game, glad it was made digital.
Direwolf give us another fantastic adaption. Some very minor niggly bugs 🐛 that I'm sure they will resolve in time. Worth the price for sure.
Great game and tutorial, but unplayable due to tiny text and tiny buttons that are so small they are hard to press.
It's a really nice engine building game. The action system really works well with the cards, workers, and tiles.
Even on a Fold 6 it's a pain in the butt to select some tabs. Definitely a tablet game, good luck playing on smaller screens. Other than that this is a great implementation of the board game
good at tracking tags, but lacks overall visibility of the physical game
too many bugs - building is often broken on certain maps. edit: Bugs are getting squashed - still seeing (and reporting) a few, so will leave it at 4 until all has been fixed.
I love the board game. App has been great so far. One glitch that keeps coming up for me is I'll select the animals action but the confuses it for the cards action. Every time, as soon as I get animals upgraded and it's at level 5.
a fantastic adaption of the board game. my only gripe is that, when placing building tiles, it seems to be 50/50 on whether the buttons for rotating and confirming placement will actually work.
Love the game in general (physical, BGA adaptation and now mobile digital), however, about 90% of the time I am unable to play a game against an AI as the starting cards dont show up after selecting which board to start with.
Go through the tutorials when playing with these board games. Board games like this are endlessly replayable. unlock as many of the acheivements as possible. I have 100s of hours i will plan to spend waiting for the laundry. I dont buy on steam but this game is highly rated and the game has crossplay capabilities. Its cheaper on android. Which is why i do not use i phones. I use Samsung S24 Ultra with Qhd+ graphics and it keeps me coming back for more. It helps to have a phone for faster 120hz.
So excited to have a digital format now! Phone ui has been great during the tutorial
The buttons are sooooo small, even on my fold phone. The action cards/icons are soooo tiny when they could have just expanded to twice the size it to fit the bar they are in. All the icons are also soooooo small. Oh gosh. There's so much wasted space... CGE's Through the Ages is the gold standard. DireWolf, pls modify your UI to fit mobile. Let the players choose the large UI for 4:3 aspect ratio pls. Why is the UI size locked to different aspect ratios...
UI is a little hard to use on my phone's small screen but ark nova is one of the best board games ever so its still worth it
Still a bit buggy, and the new phone layout is weird, but progress on the game is steady. If you haven't played the board game (or something similar) then the learning curve will be steep, but worth it.
Outstanding . Slightly biased as it's long been my favourite board game for the past few years. Digital implementation is fantastic on the Galaxy Tab S10 +, (however I can't imagine playing on a phone screen but appreciate the option). I purposely waited after launch for bugs to be ironed out. Not had any issues. Thank you.
I am really enjoying this game! I play it all the time! I am increasingly running into an issue, though, where when I go to another app and come back mid-game, the game stops progressing, and I can no longer take actions. I have to resign and start a new game.
I also get the glitch where selecting an upgraded Animal action forces me to draw a card instead of playing one. Another glitch I've encountered is in the final round of the Research Mission challenge before taking my action, I've noticed one of my earlier animals has disappeared and emptied an enclosure, preventing me from supporting a conservation project.
Unable to play online due to frequent disconnections. This would not be a big issue if me and my players can reconnect. However, there is a bug which prompts "Can't connect to game. Error: check your network connection". This happens both on mobile internet and WiFi. The game itself is promising, but the buggy implementation leaves much to be desired. I do not recommend until the issue is resolved
