I started out liking this game after playing it several months back, but because of how the gacha is set up and for the fact that I've used up all of my "resources" to get the one character that got me into this game in the first place and NEVER got her, I've lost interest. Not to mention I've grown bored in trying to get one of the Priority Ship characters because of the amount of EXP you need to get for them, depending on which faction you're using. I still love the game, but unless the devs could change the gacha system, so that it doesn't cheat you out in acquiring certain characters that you can get in regular missions anyway and get a specific chance in getting the character that you're looking for, that would be nice... for a change.
Reviews for Azur Lane
← Back to Azur LaneOverall, a really good game. The gameplay is much more interactive than most warship girl games, and the character designs are very unique. I like how f2p friendly it is, and the generousity of super rares in the gacha. The stamina system in AL is very unique. My only complaints is that I lost my progress on a battle because I unlocked commisions, and that the level up system is a bit flawed because of how long it takes, and the efficiency of it. That could make it hard for people at late game.
I played this a couple years back and had fun with it, just came back to it just to find I lost my account, no big deal, what's frustrating is not being able to skip the tutorial so I can get right back into building up my fleets again. Yes, I understand that the newbies need to learn, but at least add a "Have you played before?" option for those coming back that have lost accounts.
Only gatcha game I can recommend. Very generous, you can complete the entire game without paying any money. Save up your draws, which they give you lots of for free, and you can get any ship you want. You can unlock every functional gameplay effecting thing with just the special tokens you can earn in game. There is nothing you need which costs money at any point, and very little pressure to spend. But you'll spend money for the skins anyway because they're cute. But you won't ever be forced!
Rare for me to give five stars, but I really enjoy this one. The artwork is, overall, quite enjoyable, the gameplay is good, the grind when it happens is manageable, you're not overwhelmed by ads, I haven't yet hit a point where I needed to buy the "gem" currency, since the drop rates are reasonable. Only down sides are network stability, which can be -very- finicky if your network is at all laggy or subject to even brief drops, and a few issues with localization. For example, some of the achievements require getting a ship to level 120 - but the EN servers are level capped at 110. So some achievements are blocked for English players. Also, some of the art that cycles through can be . . . a little questionable. (U556 load screen, anyone?) . But overall, this game has been great. Even if the grind for Kaga is wearing me down. :)
Great and fun game, I love the illustrations and graphics, looking forward to getting the anime. Only down side is the size it takes up a lot of space on my phone, so kinda limits how many games and other apps I can have. I saw a version on steam I was going to look into, that version isn't free, I'll probably keep the game for awhile though, if I remove it, it's not because I don't like it or move on, it will be simply because of the size. Thank you for all your hard work and GREAT GAME
The most generous gacha. The rates are pretty high so you'll get everything eventually except limited time units. The battle system is interesting enough; bullet hell works well on phones, but you can auto battle most content. There are a good amount of "idle game" systems and events are varied enough that some can be done with little time investment, while others are pretty crazy. Still, it's a fun game and probably the best gacha.
The devs for this game are some of the best devs that I have experienced in any game. If there's an issue, even a small issue, they fix it very quickly. Maintenance can be a pain, but they give you free items that can cost gems. This is a gacha game, but one of the most generous ones. The devs make their money from hardcore grinders and skins. There is no other reason to spend a cent in this game. It's also not pay to win at all. Fantastic game, but huge learning curve. Wiki is very useful.
I've been playing for several years now, and it never gets old. Events are frequent, we get a good balance of new releases and reruns, the devs are generous with rewards, almost every fleet works well, you can marry your favorite ships, and no ship is truly useless. The only real issues I have are the lack of notifications, and how expensive it is to increase dock and depot space. Please fix notifications and make it easier for players to increase space without forcing us to spend money!
Best Gacha on the market by far. Don't let it's age fool you, it does everything right, and is the shining example of how to do the genre. A Boring Masterpiece, as one YouTuber called it, this isn't even a bad thing. Low effort, low commitment, it doesn't really punish you. It's a great casual game. Just remember to play it on an emulator seeing at its approaching 18 gigs with no signs of stopping. Though if some leaks are to be believed, it might be making a platform jump soon, so rejoice!
the game has a long history of being very kind and generous to their players, especially if you're free to play. This game probably has among the most generous gacha in the sphere. However, the game has become unbelievably bloated in size, it's nearing the size of a hoyoverse game and it's only 2d assets. with the recent update they added 3d characters to certain parts of the game that are NOT optional. So if you have no interest in it, then tough luck. Please give us a pc port or optimize!!!
Azur Lane: a repetitive masterpiece. This is a great game. Very f2p friendly. Characters are amazing, unique and very easy to get and the game gets weekly updates. only issue is the gameplay. its not bad, but like someone else said its not enough to keep old players coming back. if they just added "better" gameplay this game would be almost perfect. So as of right now its mostly a waifu collector which is fine for me currently at level 105, but ive gotten burnt out and came back a lot before.
It is very f2p friendly. You can't even buy your way to success, so this is a gacha game you can enjoy without whales ruining it. What keeps it from being a 5 star is the gameplay is only just okay. It seems like the game couldn't decide whether it wanted to be an rpg or bullet hell so it split the difference and ended up not being great at either. the gameplay isn't bad, it just isn't good enough to keep players coming back unless the setting, characters, or style interests them enough.
I'm enjoying the game so far, but I wish there were more things to do. The level scaling in the campaign is really high, there are no dungeons that can give exp, coins, etc. I hope there will be something like that added to the game, plus sitting there and watching the ship girls battle is boring to me. There should be a button that says quick sortie, that would be awesome to see in the game.
I played this game regularly up until a year or two ago. Due to unfortunate personal reasons (none of which involved the game) I stopped playing completely. Now I am back to playing but it took me a few days of back and forth communication with customer service to find my old account and get it back due to the change in how the accounts are bound. They were very polite and extremely helpful and together we managed to find and migrate my old account with the info I had for said account.
i like collecting things, and since this is my first gacha game, i have been sticking to it. Even though I've been playing for 4 years, im taken aback by the sheer size of this game. The additional assets you need to download add up to a total game size of (25 maximum/10 minimum) Gigs and it is ridiculous. It has recent frequent 0.2+ Gig updates and im running out of space... I'll have to say goodbye to the game and it's unfortunate.
I adore this game but I have feedback and I'm not sure where else to place it: can the archives get some attention? The events not having images makes it hard to backtrack and read events. Also instead of the grid once you've selected the event, can the cutscenes be in a more refined list? I can seldom read the events as they're going (health issues) and have to backtrack and read when I'm able. I love this game and hope to see future improvements!
The only gacha game I keep coming back to. Game play isn't anything special, but it gets the job done. But it has top tier waifus and you can do everything without spending money. Unlike a lot of gacha games, it doesn't shove all the packs and stuff you can buy. Edit: The last year or so of this game, I think the variety and quality of the designs has dropped. A lot more focus on gooner skins, and every new shipgirl looks similar. Not a fan of the direction the game is going.
I've been playing Azur Lane since November of 2024, it's a great game, collecting all the different characters and playing the events is really fun. But, it's just too much for many phones and many people can't really play it because of the huge game itself. I would really like an official PC Port of Azur Lane sometime soon, espacially because soon there will be even more 3D content like the Island Planner now, also the Dock Spaces are a problem, it's too many shipgirls for only so much space.
I love this game and I play it constantly, just as I have for the last two years. It's a ton of fun, but I had to change my review. Since they added the Private Quarters game mode, the game has lost a lot of it's core stability, immediately working more poorly than before the feature. It freezes frequently, it gets stuck on loading all the time, and even with a good connection, the UI is frequently unresponsive. Really disappointed with the game's functionality over the last couple months.
