I've tested a bunch of mobile platformers and Butter Rush is definitely one of the better ones. The controls feel really tight and responsive, and the level design does a great job of steadily introducing new obstacles and challenges to keep things interesting. It's not the most innovative game ever, but it nails the core platforming mechanics. And the retro visuals and music also give it a ton of charm. My main gripe is that it can get a bit repetitive and grindy if you're trying to 100% complete everything, but for a casual playthrough it's a lot of fun. Overall, I'd recommend Butter Rush to any fans of old-school 2D platformers looking for a solid, polished mobile experience.

Description

Been playing Butter Rush for a couple months now. It’s basically a retro-style platformer where you play as this character called Butter Man. The goal is to run, jump, and dodge your way through these levels full of obstacles and enemies. Looks like a simple game at first but there’s actually a good amount of challenge and variety to it.

There’s 10 different levels to play through, each with their own unique hazards and baddies to watch out for. And you’ll need to time your jumps carefully and use mechanics like wall-jumping to get through some of the trickier parts. The graphics have a cool retro pixel art style and the music is pretty catchy too.

Look, if you’re into old-school platformers, you’ll probably have a blast with Butter Rush. It’s not perfect – the difficulty does ramp up a lot later on and it can get a bit repetitive. But overall it’s a solid, well-made game that’s worth checking out, especially since it’s a one-time buy with no ads or microtransactions.
