The game has a pause button, use it often and frequently. There's also a wiki for when you're unsure as to how to proceed. Cultist Simulator is a game best experienced with the mindset of an investigator, an investigator that gathers clues but doesn't dwell on them until they start to form a cohesive whole. Dwelling will result in frustration as to what to do next, and then madness. Go with the flow, wring as much knowledge as you can from the bookstore, and be sure to study your-

So, I'll not spoil anything about the game's mechanics or lore here, but I will say that it's my favorite mobile game. It's pretty tricky to learn (particularly the Exile DLC), and some stuff can be a bit frustrating (such as Dread), but it's very worthwhile in my opinion. It's lore is rich and it's mechanics are pretty decent (if sometimes quite frustrating, especially Exile). Overall, it's a good play, if you're patient and enjoy this kind of eldritch and mysterious feel.

This game has QUITE the learning curve. It doesn't really spell things out for you, and I definitely had to Google things when I was going for specific endings and achievements. But then once you finally figure out the optimal way to achieve the resources you need, the game goes from obtuse to asinine. All that said, I got a TON of play time out of this and couldn't put it down for weeks. Hard to recommend, but also hard NOT to. All I can say is, I've never played anything quite like it.

I enjoy how deep in thought this game can put you. It does show you hints when clicking on an empty space where a card would go. The only negatives is the symbology which can be difficult to grasp. As well as the lack of tutorial. Sink or swim. Overall, very well done, a little adictive and really fun...once you get the hang of it.

Confusing, yet fun and oddly alluring. I got this game off of a recommendation from a friend and the writing is absolutely astonishing. Really had a blast with this one and continue to do so! Though, one gripe I have is the mobile UI can make the game feel a tad cluttered. It's really more a nitpick than anything, as the atmosphere, writing, and sound design are the real meat and potatoes here.

It's not you, it's me. Half the fun of the game is trial and error, success and failure. The lack of a tutorial still makes me want to git gud, but at some point in every game there's a downward spiral where my resources dwindle; my attention wanders as I drag every single card to find the right combination, praying to RNGesus for one unique item that might help. If one likes card and juggling games, this is a pretty cool game to try out. For me, I don't think I'll be finishing this game.

I wish I had discovered this game on PC first. Because I just can't play this game on a phone. I don't recommend playing this game on anything smaller than a tablet. There's just a lot of small parts that you have to constantly rearrange and organize if you want to play this game with a sense of progress without confusion. It's a fine game if you like micro-managing a lot of tiny parts, but that being said, like I said previously, don't play on a phone. I was hoping that I could get a refund for this game because I ended up buying the PC version on GOG after how frustrated I was with this version, but given that this version and the GOG version are published by two different entities, I highly doubt that it's going to happen. Would greatly appreciate if I got that refund. If I don't, then this mobile version will just have been my admission price to the complicated world of Cultist Simulator.

This is a game that feels immensely huge. There is so much to figure out and the first few times you're just so in the dark that whenever you discover a connection or figure out how to do something, it feels very rewarding. I still haven't managed to get a victory but every time you start over you have a little bit more advantage. Very mechanics heavy, the best thing to do is make sure you read every little thing you can on the cards, they give so many hints!

Excellent game. The game is challenging and filled with rich lore, which you will have to piece together to figure out your way through the game. For example, there is a giant snake you must pass but you're told that it will respect the power of the Mother of Ants, so in order to pass you must look through pieces of lore to find one of the text pieces that describes who the Mother of Ants is and what power she holds. But if you're not the type for intense puzzles, there's also an awesome wiki!

I'll admit, I was skeptical at first, spending money. But the game is very enjoyable for a "learn-as-you-go" game. It's very like a solitaire game where although there IS strategy, the random events often spells your downfall. However, as is not clearly defined (maybe, because yes there is a help book, but I'm trying not to read it yet). But there are different roles that greatly effect the cards you get and thus the game play. Overall very good game.

What can you say about this game other than failure isn't losing. Knowledge is how you understand and progress. Your first few runs will be slow as you have to read everything closely. Soon you will be speed running into the descent to madness, and maybe this time you will come out the other side. 10/10 am thinking about buying it on a third platform. This is a unique game with no other like it, except their own games. Take heed their advice, experiment take risks like them!

Cultist Simulator isn't for everyone, but if it's for you, it grabs you and doesn't let go. It's unlike any other game you'll play; nothing else will scratch the same itch. I think the mobile version is the definitive way to play--it's just so much less tedious to manipulate the game space with pinches and taps. You can get all of the DLC too--Dancer, Priest, Ghoul, and Exile--so it's the full experience. This game is great. Don't play it.

Engaging and genuinely fun with a satisfying amount of content I'm still exploring. Variety of options for how lives play out. Worth noting I did decide early on to buy the DLC bundle, so my experience will mostly be with that included. There's not enough 'real' games for mobile (as in, more than surface level content click/ gacha machines), I'm excited to have found this. Reminds me just a little of Inscryption, but they're definitely different. Don't get too attached to any life!

Can be very addicting. I like experimenting with all the different outcomes and I feel like I've improved so much with every playthrough (even though it saddens me every time a life ends). Sometimes it can be frustrating because I feel like I'm so close to learning/unlocking something new but end up getting arrested or dread/fascination succumbs me if I'm not paying attention. But I've been enjoying the game very much to keep trying again. Fun use of my time & have been playing for several days.

It's SUPER engaging. It's also very confusing, and often incredibly frustrating. I have no idea what I'm doing! But honestly that hasn't stopped me from playing. I considered giving it a lower rating because of how hard it is to figure things out, but I just can't seem to put the game down. If you like frustrating games like The Impossible Quiz, or you enjoy idle resource management games and want a (significant) challenge, this may be the game for you!

I love this freaking game. But noticed two bugs, one of them makes me want to throw my phone against the wall. I had a run lasting days, twice now, in the end stages of the game, AFTER, saving, end for no reason. Upon opening the game, again, AFTER, saving, the game presents the title screen as if no save data exists. Completely gone. This is the second time now, and this time I was in the middle of an ascent with 6 marks. I can't even pick a new aspiration because the game just thinks I'm new

This game is wildly addictive. it's literally like a time warp. I can start playing and look up and it's 90 minutes later. it didn't take long to pick it up, and tye knowledge you gain builds on each subsequent run. it's a constant learning curve and each run is a little longer with your new knowledge. totally recommend if you need to kill a lot of time.

Heavy trial-and-error simulator. Be prepared to lose runs at any moment. It sometimes crashes, especially on devices with smaller RAM, but the auto-save feature usually saves progress regularly enough that data-loss isn't an issue. That being said, it's mostly a good game. complaints: Very monotonous at some points, bad luck can be a run-ender at any moment, runs can regularly take over 20 hours even despite permanent progress loss on death, so there's a lot to lose and nothing to stop it.

This game takes a while to pick up, and does a phenomenal job at being at times intentionally: monotonous, exciting, suspenseful, hopeful or even stressful. decisions are always significant. the higher degree of difficulty grants feelings of reward rather well. the opaque storyline, the lore in descriptions and are alluring in all the best ways. I just wish it were also available in Spanish

Cultist Simulator is a trial-and-error styled game where you're not given any kind of a tutorial on how to play, but must rely entirely on experimentation in order to progress. This can lead to highly satisfying gameplay as you discover how things work, and start building strategies with the knowledge you gain from playing. But please note, this style of gameplay is not for everyone. Consider carefully if trial-and-error as the main game mechanic is your thing before purchasing.
