I thought the people were over exaggerating the popup issue. They are not. I really don't need to be informed about every single tiny thing. The UI is repetitive for how many things you need to upgrade. There could be a lot of changes to make this game more fun. I got it on sale. Overall a fun time waster I would say it's worth the 3$ I spent on it.
Reviews for Dungeon Village 2
← Back to Dungeon Village 2These games are absurdly fun. They make you explore the rules of the world but it's fun to do that, instead of frustrating. Kairosoft is worth loyalty in Mobile at this point. If you're new to them: you build a town and supply adventurers, who then go out and complete quests, while you try to grow and attract more guests. None of which really describes what's good about the game, but that's the premise.
It definitely has a Lot of new features... I'm not quite sold on them yet, but I've only just past the 17yr. mark on my first play through. My main issue is that you have a whole new use for items but the drop rate isn't any higher than before so you can't advance shops/people/cauldron as much, and their effects are much less on shops and the cauldron. I wound up with over half of my people only equipped with what they bought for themselves because I couldn't level up shops enough. 😕
Let me start by saying that I don't play mobile games anymore. I did at one time, but now I primarily focus on computer or console gaming. When I first purchased this I was skeptical, I thought it was another cheap game focused on keeping me paying for microtransactions. Imagine my surprise when there were no microtransactions, and the game itself was not just good at passing time, but genuinely fun! I've played for a while only to realize it'd been several hours! I highly recommend it!
This is ALMOST great. It's got surprising depth and while it's relatively easy for more experienced strategy and sim gamers it is simple enough to ease players into a genre with some more complicated games. Now the problem. Why this lost two stars. Oh. So many. Pop ups. They never stop! They just keep coming! They can't be skipped and barely sped up! Everything has a ten second animation attached! It almost doubles the game length! Please, I'm begging you, let me minimize or skip them. 🥺
A lot like the first one with a few added features. Fun but a few things could be improved: 1. The first few times the game starts the load takes a long time, but after that it gets shorter. 2. Making money is too easy, pretty soon you run out of things too spend it on. 3. Monster taming doesn't seem to work. Played for many hours but only ever tamed one.
So far better than the original Dungeon Village due to more things to do (and getting in-game money seems easier thanks to a new crystal system that can be exchanged for in-game money), but I do wish there were better explanations in the game for some of the new features, like what the advantage of building different houses are, and more about pets and so forth. But I am enjoying the game even though the popups from various conditions being met/rewards can be overwhelming at times.
It's a great little game by a company I love, it doesn't take IRL days to do things, no purchases or ads, and a well made little management sim, lots of stuff to unlock with progression. I can easily spend hours playing nonstop. However, If I have any qualms with it, and it's only because this is a paid game, it's that it'd be really nice to actually know what each stat does and to be able to see what your total monthly expenses are in the info screen so you aren't blindsided when they come out.
I played the first one and thought it was charming enough to get this one. It's a cute town builder, with two main goals: Get 5 Star rating and Defeat the Boss. I like being able to move to a new town on the same save, i love the new monsters and jobs. Everything is fleshed out and improved, no glitchy selecting buildings or npcs when you didn't want to. Very nice. Have been playing for a long time.
Send help I can't stop playing!! This game doesn't have ads which is awesome in this day and age, and no way to spend real money inside the game either. You make a nice town and have all these characters you can customize with RPG elements like dungeons and quests. The game is simply fun and addicting, I love it!!! Great update to the original dungeon village.
By far my favorite Kairosoft game, surpassing even the original. There's way more content in this one, and all of the same great structure is here. If the devs are looking though, I do have two minor gripes: 1) Too many pop-up notifications to keep tapping through, especially when you run a bunch of events and get multiple 100-pop +traits +new arrivals. 2) Gifting items in multiples is a scam. Saves time, but you're paying to get less satis/work+stats; too much penalty to be worth it.
I played the prev game and this one improves on every problem AND polishes the good points. Offline, no ads, no bundles. The art is good and the progression is solid, it always feels like there's something I *can* do, but I can also let it run itself for a bit. Sometimes wish there was offline progress but that would be involved so it's fine as is. The Town Traits mechanic is really interesting.
I absolutely love this game! They enhanced a lot from the first game, and added many other things! I play a bunch of the titles from this developer, and this is among my favorites. Well done devs! The only minor complaint is this: the notifications that pop up to tell you how your advancing, give you tips, let you know about quests, etc... They can get a little annoying at times. Still, it's not annoying enough to make me uninstall. Worth every penny! Highly recommend!
Kairosoft, I am a fan. I like your games. I am begging you to find a way to streamline the item giving mechanic and the pop up notification mechanic. I do not want to have to clear 10 seconds of pop ups every 100 seconds to learn I received 20 points when I have 999 points already. Giving items to characters, in all your games, is required but its so very slow. Spend 20 hours to find a way to show progress without constant unskippable popups and to streamline item giving. 20 hours. Thank yo
Specifically bought this for long flights without Internet connection. Unfortunately, the game won't start without Internet connection though. You have to remember to start it while you're still connected, and then keep it open. Other than that, it's a fun little game, but the item management soon gets overwhelming, with no real guidance about which item is best for which character (based on their class and/or existing items).
I really enjoyed my time with Dungeon Village 2, 100% all the towns. Two things I hope to see in the sequel: "BUY MAX" -button, instead of having to select the product and then choose the maximum amount manually. ITEM SETS - Would be great to be able to quickly swap out the whole set of a villager, instead of doing it manually one by one and trying to find a specific weapon you've been uprading. Dungeon Village 3 will be an instant purchase if it ever comes.
Easy hero management, there's only a few things you have to keep track of (like keeping monster tamer jobs). Town building isn't too strict on trying to optimize. Negatives is that there's a lot of underexplained mechanics (like monster taming, what items are best for different facilities) and also a lot of popup notifications. Job mastery? popup. Popularity increase? popup. New quest? popup. It's not bad at the start, but once you have 20+ heros you're getting a popup every 5 to 10 seconds.
Very fun little game I love to play when I'm on the move, especially at college between classes. The only two things I wish were better was that monster companions had more ways to be strengthened, and for there to be more buildings to buy in the shop from time to time (the town point shop).
Very compelling mgmt game, decent depth. Overwhelming amount of traits to manage but it's fun. One critical flaw: length of time it takes to give gifts or use items on buildings, when I eventually quit playing, it will be because I couldn't be bothered to sit through the many animations that require my input.
This is a really fun, and cute, game. Pretty good for leisure time. While not overly difficult, there's a lot under the hood here that can keep you busy also, you you can make it as challenging as you want I guess. Just play for fun to pass the time, or dig deep into it and min-max to your hearts content. It's fun either way! Recommended, for sure.
