Been playing Escape the Dark Castle for a couple months now. It’s basically a companion app for the tabletop game where you track your prisoner’s stats and progress through the adventure. Pretty solid app if you’re into that kinda thing.

Here’s what you do – there’s this cool mechanic where you can press and drag on these shackle chains to adjust your HP. It makes a satisfying rattling sound and the heartbeat gets faster as you get low on health. There’s also a Plague tracker that tallies your level and triggers little animations when you hit thresholds. Neat stuff.

Look, if you’re into strategy games and dungeon crawling, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the upgrades take forever at higher levels and the ads can get annoying. But overall it does the job of enhancing the tabletop experience. Worth checking out.

So here's my honest take on Escape the Dark Castle. I've tested a bunch of companion apps and this one's pretty good. The atmosphere and animations really suck you into the game world, and the mechanics for tracking stats are super intuitive. It's not trying to do too much, just gives you the essential features in a polished way. The only downsides are that it can get a little repetitive after a while, and the progression system is kind of grindy. But if you're a fan of the base game, this is a no-brainer.
