The original storyline and gameplay are masterpieces, however the mobile version is a weak port compared to console and PC. The motorcycle game was too fast, and I still can't figure out how to get a good rating for the Junon march. The epic soundtrack starts over after every battle so to listen to it all you have to put the phone down or turn encounters off. The encounter toggle button stares at you in your face the whole time (why isn't this a menu option like max stats?) Needs another update.
Reviews for FINAL FANTASY VII
← Back to FINAL FANTASY VIIWould give this game 5 stars if it didn't crash so much. There are parts of the game where it may be quite some time until the next save point and it's really easy to lose a lot of progress when a crash hits. Looking at the other reviews this seems to be a common complaint, I hope it is addressed. While saving often can help you progress, after many attempts I've found it will always crash prior to getting to 64,000 battle points needed for the w-summon materia. Edit 2024: No longer crashes
I love the game! Yall did a excellent job on it! The only issue I keep running up on, is during the first launch with cid. When it does the flashback of when he had to stop, the counter gets to 00:00 it's like it freezes, not actually freeze but just like the gameplay is in a loop. I've tried reloading n doing it again, same thing over n over. If you can look into it, I'd really appreciate it cause I love this game!
The game itself is great and I love it, but there is a glitch where the controls desync from where you are actually pressing, and this persists even after I close and reopen the game. The issue is that the tap detection is off center from the buttons, in my case I have to tap to the left of where the button should be. That's the only issue I've found so far though. I hope you guys fix this glitch because it really sucks unless I hook up my switch pro controller or my bluetooth keyboard. Thankyou
Beautiful port of a classic game, it runs flawlessly while offering some new features, small ones and while I never used the option to turn of random battles, it's a neat idea. I came across no real glitches aside from a few model glitches in the not CG cutscenes but they made me laugh and added to the charm of the game. $15 seems a bit much, but for what many believe to be the best video game of all time that you have at your fingertips and are able to play on car trips, why not buy it? 10/10.
I have been enjoying this blast from the past! As far as the safe I was able to crack it each time (I died a couple times) within about 5 tries. I switched my controls from the floating toggle to the directional pad so that I could more accurately put in the code. I haven't come across any lag or bugs. The only problem I have is accessing the world map so I can see where I am going.
God damn awesome. This is one of the best games of all time and this version plays even better than the original playstation one. The characters, the story and the music get me every time. This game is timeless. Edit:Playing several months later, I started to have issues with crashing. I set phone to "pro gamer" mode, which blocks notifications and limits background apps from running. This solved the issue, so if anyone else has this issue, check background apps and ram usage. Hope it helps you
So, ff7 was my original game... That game that gets you hooked on gaming. So I love this release... It's a faithful port that I can play in small chunks of time. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is the mini game issue. The mini games are unplayable at their present speed which is way too fast. This is unfortunate as I used to love going to gold saucer and run the mini games again and again. In this port I mostly dread them coming and just hope I can get a lucky run in and get through it.
I got this free via the Play Pass. If you're buying this, wouldn't recommend. FFVII will always be amazing, but the controls here are so clunky and unoptimized. Other versions on other platforms will warrant a better experience, in addition to having things like speeding up time, invincibility, if you so choose to use that. It might cost a little extra on other platforms but for the controls alone it's worth it. At bare minimum this game should have a way to connect Bluetooth controllers.
Absolutely amazing, perfect so far. Saves just fine for me, even closed the game completely and my save was still there. Controls are great too, people keep saying it's bad, but I think it's fine. It's either a d-pad or an analog stick with octagonal direction. Graphics are great, audio ?sucks? ( Might be my phone tbh), some nice additions to the options as well. Finally!!
FF7 is my all-time favorite game of any genre. I have played through the OG probably 10 times or so because of all the different release versions. I cannot recommend it enough. Having said that, I can only give 4 stars. Simply because of this version. There are some simple Mobile QOL features that would have made massive improvement. For example, add a save anywhere option. I understand not having one on a console, but this is mobile for Pete's sake... Controls kinda suck, but layout is fine.
So far so good with this game in the edge 6 plus. The color scheme is way "off" when videos are playing but is fine with the rest of the game. Sound us just like the original. I haven't had issue with the known 'bug' but since it is known I can't fault the developer on it. Especially when they tell us about it beforehand. The controls are adequate and the on-screen variations of the controls work well. Can't wait for more updates to hopefully fix the color scheme and the big bug that they a
Right on this is much better than before! Would it be possible to add the option to give all items and materia since there's a no encounters option? I've played this game so many times and nowadays I'd like to play just for the story and Max my players as much as possible, have all weapons and all that, just for quick playthroughs, also frame rate skip would be nice.
Being able to play, not only the best game ever made, my favorite game ever - the game that changed my life - the greatest interactive story ever told; on my mobile device, is such a treat. All things considered, the app looks great, plays great, and there is zero to little lag, not to mention the decent frame rate. My only wish was that there was the "invincibility" mode and high speed mode that was introduced in the PS4 port. Other than that, I have nothing but praise for this classic piece!!!
If you get the BSOD, install the game, but do NOT play it immediately. Install, then go to Settings, then to Apps, then scroll down to Final Fantasy VII and go to Permissions. In Permissions, allow the game to have access to all permissions available. It's an older app, so while you may not see a need for all of the permissions, it does need them to run! Exit Settings and re-start your device. Run the game and it should work fine! This also works for FF9!!!
This is only slightly-better-than-average for a ported game. I've enjoyed FF7 since it's PS release in the 90's, often using an emulator. I'm disappointed to say that some emulated versions play better than this one, and this is from Square Enix! How can they not get their own game right? Clunky controls all around, and the minigames are downright unplayable, sped up at least 100% both in the Golden Saucer and story. It's pathetic that this is an issue. This unfixed game should be free.
Cloud Save has been fixed but performance is so bad. considering the price this should run smooth. was ok on my old old Samsung but for some reason on my high performance Xiaomi it lags horribly no matter what setting I change to try and improve it. it clearly isn't optimised for all devices. I have some of the others including ff8 and they all work fine so why not this one? I also run much high performance games with no issues. this game needs to get some serious performance updates
While I want to love this game so much, even though I did as a kid, it makes it incredibly difficult when the game crashes about every hour and twenty minutes. I have lost countless opportunities to save. Had to redo many scenes. It is very annoying. The only reason it gets 2 stars is because of how much I loved this game and the memories it brings back! Please fix the bug crashes that's plaguing this game
G8 Galileo controller (wired) works perfectly with this. You can't configure a controller for the game, but it still works and all the buttons are mapped correctly by default. My only complaint so far is the fps is a little choppy and the screen is too small and can't be adjusted. I'd at least like to make the blue/black sidebars all black if I can't stretch the screen.
It's a port of FF7 for the US PS1. It plays as such. Onscreen controllers are easy to get used to. My caveat really is the save feature. This is a mobile port, make it easier to save on the go. There must be a way to code in a "quick save" feature, I would imagine. Overall, I am still having fun with it. It is FF7 after all.
