This is a great version of FNF but there is a little bugs here and there. in the last song of the senpai week my frames drop by like 5 to ten and then the same thing in the first song of the very last week. also, I felt the game was a little too easy at times, even when I was playing on the hardest difficulty, so if you could implement a mode where you can't break your combo or something like that I would love it. Either way though, great port.
Reviews for Friday Night Funkin'
← Back to Friday Night Funkin'Great game, immediately paid for no ads. A tiny nitpick though. The learning curve for this for me is hard, but when doubles on the same side of the screen come down I'm done for. Wish there was a button in the middle between the left and down and the same for the up and right notes. Hitting both with the same finger is hard, but they should make it a tad bit easier. 100% every song on PC, time to do the same for mobile! (Btw pressing downscroll in settings does nothing, notes go down anyway)
Great game! I'm happy that there is a mobile port for fnf now. I believe there should be a new setting, where you can adjust the size of some of the keys. I also think that there should be an option to change the position of the keys, its a bit uncomfortable since the keys are slightly separated. I also experienced some brief lag spikes, even on newer devices. Overall it has some problems but it's an amazing port of the game and it is very smooth too!
It's incredible how the team managed to bring this incredible game on mobile, especially how smoothly the gameplay is! However, like many other reviewers, I've come across bugs that hinder me from playing in story mode, which sometimes crashes the game, same problem when I try to go to options. Aside from this, props to the Friday Night Funkin' crew for getting the game running on mobile this smooth and enjoyable!!!
Honestly, when I found out that they made the game mobile I was happy and it's really cool). Of course, the game is a bit raw at the beginning, but despite this it's still awesome. Thanks for fixing the bug in the main menu, but there's still a problem with the arrows, they often don't accept and skip my move, although everything is ok with the phone, and there are songs where you need to press everything or more than 2, it's a bit impossible to do on the phone, but it's personal, idk
Full disclosure: I really suck at this game. That being said, those with quicker fingers than me will have a great time. The art style strikes a great balance of edgy, cute, and cool, and the music is great. Multiple difficulty levels for each song and the option to turn on practice mode means even the least skilled players can still have fun, while providing optional extra challenge for hardcore players. The only issue is occasional slight lag, but I expect this will be fixed soon.
I absolutely love that they made a mobile version since it was so hard for me to play the PC version. The only thing I don't like about it is that I can't play it offline. With wifi on, there's usually an ad after a level (week) and that would close the score screen. But if I play offline, it just doesn't go back to the level selection again since there would be no ad playing. If that gets fixed, I'll leave a 5 star review
The game is fun. Though it bit of frame skips here and there but that's not too much of a problem. If I may make a suggestion, could you add an auto-play mode as a way to let us preload the assets so when we play the songs normally, we don't have to deal with it? Edit: If you consider implementing this into the mobile version. You should have characters like Tankman insult the player saying if they're trying to preload assets or just trying to go the easy way out. In newgrounds fashion.
Great game, PRO TIP: hitting in between notes presses both at the same time. A complaint of mine is the stuttering. It's uncommon, but when it happens, it can mess me up a little. It's not too bad, though. I also wish for an option to customize how big the "double note press" threshold is, the place in between 2 notes that determines if its a single note press, or 2 at the same time, you know? I find it a little too small.
The game is really cool on mobile and I've been waiting to play it. First day playing this, it went really well. (Edit: also the ads weren't that annoying, but I hate how whenever I'm supposed to get an ad, it freezes up for a few secs) The animations were smooth but the only problem was that while playing for a while, the game would lag and eventually crash. Second day, the audio was somehow delayed and it was annoying playing it. Idk how to fix it but ig I'll have to play it like this for now.
The game works great, the arts great, and the music is great, so everything is pretty good overall. Though I do feel like the arrow buttons are a bit small, so sometimes there will be a mis-input, but it's more of a learning curve than anything else. Would also be kinda nice if there was a "Jukebox" mode or something, just a way that lets us listen to tracks without having to play them. Maybe make us need to get a "Perfect"score in normal mode in order to unlock each track in the Jukebox.
it's a great game, and I'm most definitely glad it's on mobile. It is mostly pretty clean. there are a few issues I ran into, like tiny game freezes and the end of week one being buggy. Regardless, it's an epic game that is definitely worth playing. I'm having a great time playing it. P.S. I'd like some way to move the controls to make it more comfy for me. for example, there could be buttons that trigger the notes while keeping the original buttons to time your clicks.
Game works and looks great, only issue is that it crashes a bunch. The game is wonderful as always, just needs a little fixing! For instance, I cannot progress because when I finish the weekend, after the Pico and Darnell animation, it crashes. I understand that the game is fresh off the press, so no reason to lower my rating. Amazing as always and cannot wait for more updates!!!
After playing and exploring for a couple of hours, I definitely think this app accomplished it's goal of putting the pc version on mobile. The load time is really quick, and the cutscenes and in-game events run smoothly. Howwver, the charting of some songs like "Guns", "Cocoa (Pico Mix)", and "2hot" and feel like they just weren't designed for mobile. I personally don't play downscroll and there's no option to change that. It's not THAT bad, I just don't prefer it. Other than that, it's great.
I have one major problem with the app, and that's the positioning of the notes. while most of the time, it's fairly easy to hit notes, Double notes that are directly next to each other (Right + Up or Left + Down) are Difficult to hit fairly consistently due to how spaced apart the arrows are. if they were brought a little bit closer together, or if i got the option to move them a little bit, itd be much better.
It's an amazing game, there's a few things that should be added such as getting possibly a gold star next to the week you beat if it's 100% perfect for any difficulty, it should also have more bass. Another thing is that you guys should add a damn color switcher for the notes, people who are color blind or just want to customize, also there should be a gold style for each character if you beat every song on hard, silver for all on normal, and bronze for easy. It's a pretty damn good game!
This game is great! Works well, and lets mobile players have fun too!! A few bugs, sometimes if you click too early on the result screen, the game softlocks(?) and doesn't let you tap anywhere, having to close the game and reopen it. Apart from that, I'd like to have the middle inputs (the input that allows you to press left and down or up and right at the same time) adjustable, because it's so precise, it hurts. Other than that, this game is great! Glad to finally have an FNF port!
I REALLY LOVE THIS GAME! best and fun game I played in a long time! but, it does lag alot. I avoid playing darnell erect, and bf's battle with darnell on mobile and move to my iPad because it does lag. I'm pretty sure it's cause of the fog. it also stops in the middle of the song, but does keep going, and gets rid of my combos🙁 but it's a really great game, overall!
Edit: The controls take a bit to get used to but they are pretty good, I've been in the community for a long while, and have P ranked All the songs on PC. This is a wonderful port and works very well! Its even MODABLE!! (Not all Mods Work, Or have full functionality) This is a great dang game and I highly reccomend it, aside from some lag and rare crashes its great. 10/10
I love fnf and super hype that it's on the phone now, but here's a couple of recommendations. One may make the difficulty a bit easier, I understand that the notes are exact from the PC, and it's great until theres certain notes that seem really hard on mobile. For ppl that like the challenge of the regular notes, unless can set them as a mode/difficulty. There are some lag spikes that mess up, and for bf Darnell, both songs do seem choppy and slow, but this is still fun, such as waited port
