I have not played it long, but enjoyed it so far. Prolog is a little long. There are lots going on, with separate city, world, character, dragon and other arenas. A little hard to keep track of everything, but if you don't take it too serious, it is fun enough. Addendum: changed to 2 stars. It takes weeks to build up the army you really need, but it can get wiped in a single attack from a high-level player. That makes it completely unfun at the intermediate level, if you don't want to spend.
Reviews for Frost & Flame: King of Avalon
← Back to Frost & Flame: King of AvalonDominion is looking good. The addition of more castles to the kingdom map, the zones, and alliance resources are some of the most notable updated features. However, this game is an absolute cash-grab by the developers. Certain updates (buying new items upon release) will cost you about $3000 to unlock. And in most cases you still have upgrading you can do/will spend to do. Game is not for free to play, or even light spenders. All it takes is one person slightly stronger, and you lose it all.
Its a very repetitive kind of game, there's alot to do as long as you have vast amounts of money to spend, just to teleport around the map costs $75 and its really not even that big. This game is a little short of strategy as its really based more on overal statistics of attack & defense which primarily is only incresed by spending more money, the only way to level up without $ is to grind for days at a time and always be alert. After level 20 you'll be forced to dump $100 just for level 22.
Frustrated. I really like this game but as I've been doing the King's Road event, the last couple days, the game hasn't been crediting me coins to quests I know for a fact I've completed. It hasn't just happener today, but at least the last two or three. I am one coin short of collecting that character, but I can't because the game is glitching. Please fix this. I don't want to have to uninstall.
I love playing this game. If you want to get anywhere you have to spend money. Also some of the events can be very confusing with no one to ask about them. Also some of the construction cost to build up things are EXTREMELY ridiculous. It requires way too much resources to build up things. I feel like I been playing this game forever and just today I got to level 35 it would have cost me 387 million pieces of food to upgrade. The event lowered the cost to upgrade but it still cost a lot.
Like it sooo..... far. Just wish it didn't take so... long to advance the levels upwards to get better soldiers. And that the player's success wasn't so very dependent upon spending money. Overall this game appears to be much less "buggy" than others I've played in the past. Which is a big relief for once. If the game plays well in the future I'll be sure to upgrade my rating possibly further.
A little too much hand holding at the beginning, but it's fun. EDIT: after playing for a few weeks I built up my castle to level 14, but it's so tedious, takes forever to upgrade without real money and I'm not going to pay actual cash. I got raided by some random person from the other side of the map at a much higher level, yeah that's part of the game but took my enjoyment out of it. After all that hard work and seeing my troop count down to zero over night. Uninstalled.
Much easier to grow without spending alot of money. Only complaint is how the equipment material was added because in order to get it, you need to spend a good amount of money in order to forge decent gear vs how it was with the original material. Monsters of higher level were added and then removed which killed it for me. Dropped from 5 stars to 3.
I've played this game for nearly four years, and while you can have fun, understand that as with many games of this ilk, you will need to spend money to be competitive. A LOT. The game constantly updates with shiny new gear to improve your stats, which the big spenders in every kingdom will happily buy. To even stay competitive with the top 50 percent of players, expect to pay at least $500/year, if not more and to devote many hours per week in game play to get all the free stuff you can.
Great game if you know and are prepared to spend a lot of money. Graphics are excellent and game play is good. However, rewards are very small compared to what you will need for upgrades. Game support is minimal, and that goes so far as trying to figure out where to get rss and other items for creating weapons and armour. Much is not available to find within the game so you will need to buy in order to be competitive.
There is a ton to do in the game, but most of the time spent is to avoid the massive push for in-game transactions. Majority of the store items are way too expensive for the low value provided. Very few free actions available against being attacked and looted by much stronger players. In short, surrender your wallet if you want to play and have fun here. *Edit: I'm glad the developer replied, someone is reading the reviews. Yes, technically you don't have to pay for the game, but that's only half the truth. The overall feeling when playing is that the main purpose of the game is to sell you stuff. There are flashing badges and icons everywhere, filling up your screen and taking your attention. It reminds me of the Ready Player One scene where they research how many ads they can show on screen without inducing seizures. There are multiple gambling mechanics, for which you need to use multiple kinds of very-hard-to-find-but-easy-to-buy tokens. Very many items in game are single use and have a temporary effect (e.g. activate X for 60 minutes), facilitating repeated purchases. There are better ways to earn money, not intrusive or abusing the player; take a look at e.g. Clash of Clans.
I've been playing for two years. At first it was a fair game. Then it started being really expensive to keep up. The people who could afford to spend $300 or $400 a week got stronger, while the ones who couldn't spend as much got left behind. Its no fun when the stronger ones pick on the weaker... Now they have redone the dragon spirit, only because there were free rss. Now you're having to buy more resources because they took a lot of the free stuff away. I've invested a lot into the game is one reason I'm still playing. Friends I've made is another reason. I would not recommend this game to any new people looking for a war game to get involved with.
Pay to win if you want to be a boss. I don't know where they got the screenshots, but that is not at all what the game is. Resources needed to upgrade keep suck, way to expensive. You can get to 20 pretty easily, but after that it is a long tedious process unless you spend hundreds of dollars. Purchase Packages show they are between 1000% to 2000% off, but that must be some new math, because their numbers don't make sense. I have been playing for over a year and am considering moving on.
You have to spend money if you want to be powerful. It's very hard to upgrade. The materials are not available for equipment, gems, heroes, shields, emblems, etc. All the newer options require the previous level to upgrade. You can't get the latest "upgrades" because you couldn't get the previous "upgrades." Most of my friends quit. I play it now to clear my mind.
While the in-game support was quick (within same day) and the game was enjoyable for a short while I would not recommend to someone looking for something to keep their interest for long term. The mechanics of this game punish you for not knowing things going in that others would have learn from playing longer. Alliances with other groups don't last long and the game (at least the time of my playing) was full of a certain kind of player, which greatly takes away from the game as a whole.
It doesnt let me rotate my screen, which is an automatic 1 star because you dont deserve the right to decide if I can or cant charge my phone. Also the tutorial is 5 hours long, I downloaded a game to play a game I shouldnt be practically begging to be able to play. It freezes constantly as well while trying to get through the tutorial, let me out let me play the damned game. Everyone who worked on this should be fired.
Full of bugs, including kicked from the game and over heating your device, they ignore it despite complaints. More interested in adding new things to buy and changing graphics of same items. If you are not spending about $4-10k a month you are just pressing buttons. DO NOT DOWNLOAD, Google should force them to refund anyone who wants full refund for the con this game is. T&Cs updated reqular and you have to accept or you cannot even access it despite the money already invested. AVOID AT ALL COST
I played this game for like 5 years way too many glitches. Half the buttons don't work on the first tap. It's very laggy The sidequests that help you expand. Freeze up to the point where you have 1 of 2 options. Close the app or Admit defeat While you wait for the second wave to hit. Alliance chat doesn't work. Kingdom chat doesn't work. It's not even showing on my device. And I have a brand new phone. I miss the old king of Avalon. It was much better.
Super addicting. Costs way to much to really enjoy the game any more. Ive been playing for over 2 years and wish they would fix this. the amount of storage this game costs is ridiculous. talk about coding over code again and again. for a while it seemed like they were going to fix everything. They never do they just code over it, trust me do not start this game. try any other strategy game
Love the game, but after the last updates. I'm getting kicked from the game and have to keep logging in. When I try to log in, keeps saying data error 6003. I've been trying to log into the game for almost 5 hours and still same message over and over. Never had any issues until the last updates. Almost to the point of not playing the game anymore! How can a person play, when the game when it keeps kicking me out before I can even login. Getting ready to delete and stop playing if it continues!
