I have not played it long, but enjoyed it so far. Prolog is a little long. There are lots going on, with separate city, world, character, dragon and other arenas. A little hard to keep track of everything, but if you don't take it too serious, it is fun enough. Addendum: changed to 2 stars. It takes weeks to build up the army you really need, but it can get wiped in a single attack from a high-level player. That makes it completely unfun at the intermediate level, if you don't want to spend.
Reviews for Frost & Flame: King of Avalon
Dominion is looking good. The addition of more castles to the kingdom map, the zones, and alliance resources are some of the most notable updated features. However, this game is an absolute cash-grab by the developers. Certain updates (buying new items upon release) will cost you about $3000 to unlock. And in most cases you still have upgrading you can do/will spend to do. Game is not for free to play, or even light spenders. All it takes is one person slightly stronger, and you lose it all.
Its a very repetitive kind of game, there's alot to do as long as you have vast amounts of money to spend, just to teleport around the map costs $75 and its really not even that big. This game is a little short of strategy as its really based more on overal statistics of attack & defense which primarily is only incresed by spending more money, the only way to level up without $ is to grind for days at a time and always be alert. After level 20 you'll be forced to dump $100 just for level 22.
Frustrated. I really like this game but as I've been doing the King's Road event, the last couple days, the game hasn't been crediting me coins to quests I know for a fact I've completed. It hasn't just happener today, but at least the last two or three. I am one coin short of collecting that character, but I can't because the game is glitching. Please fix this. I don't want to have to uninstall.
I love playing this game. If you want to get anywhere you have to spend money. Also some of the events can be very confusing with no one to ask about them. Also some of the construction cost to build up things are EXTREMELY ridiculous. It requires way too much resources to build up things. I feel like I been playing this game forever and just today I got to level 35 it would have cost me 387 million pieces of food to upgrade. The event lowered the cost to upgrade but it still cost a lot.
Like it sooo..... far. Just wish it didn't take so... long to advance the levels upwards to get better soldiers. And that the player's success wasn't so very dependent upon spending money. Overall this game appears to be much less "buggy" than others I've played in the past. Which is a big relief for once. If the game plays well in the future I'll be sure to upgrade my rating possibly further.
A little too much hand holding at the beginning, but it's fun. EDIT: after playing for a few weeks I built up my castle to level 14, but it's so tedious, takes forever to upgrade without real money and I'm not going to pay actual cash. I got raided by some random person from the other side of the map at a much higher level, yeah that's part of the game but took my enjoyment out of it. After all that hard work and seeing my troop count down to zero over night. Uninstalled.
Much easier to grow without spending alot of money. Only complaint is how the equipment material was added because in order to get it, you need to spend a good amount of money in order to forge decent gear vs how it was with the original material. Monsters of higher level were added and then removed which killed it for me. Dropped from 5 stars to 3.
I've played this game for nearly four years, and while you can have fun, understand that as with many games of this ilk, you will need to spend money to be competitive. A LOT. The game constantly updates with shiny new gear to improve your stats, which the big spenders in every kingdom will happily buy. To even stay competitive with the top 50 percent of players, expect to pay at least $500/year, if not more and to devote many hours per week in game play to get all the free stuff you can.
Great game if you know and are prepared to spend a lot of money. Graphics are excellent and game play is good. However, rewards are very small compared to what you will need for upgrades. Game support is minimal, and that goes so far as trying to figure out where to get rss and other items for creating weapons and armour. Much is not available to find within the game so you will need to buy in order to be competitive.
