I've tested a bunch of mobile shooting games, and Jackal Squad is one of the better ones I've played. It nails that nostalgic arcade feel while still being easy to pick up and play in short bursts. The core gameplay loop of driving, shooting, and rescuing POWs is simple but super addictive. And I really dig the retro pixel art style - it just oozes that classic war game vibe. That said, the progression and upgrade system is a bit of a grind, and the repetitive nature of the levels can get old after a while. But if you're looking for a fun, old-school style shooter to play on the go, this is a pretty solid option.

Description

I’ve been playing Jackal Squad – Arcade Shooting for a couple months now. It’s basically an overhead run-and-gun style shooter game that takes you back to the glory days of arcade games. Real nostalgic stuff if you grew up on those old school war games.

Here’s the deal – you’re part of an elite squad tasked with driving an armed jeep into enemy territory to rescue POWs. You’ve got to blast through tons of enemy soldiers and vehicles to reach the hostages. And there’s also some light strategy in terms of planning your route and managing your ammo/health. It’s not super deep, but it’s a fun challenge.

Look, if you’re into classic arcade shooters, you’ll probably get a kick out of this. The graphics have that nice pixelated retro vibe, and the controls are simple but responsive. It can get a little repetitive after a while, and the upgrades/progression feels a bit grindy. But overall, it’s a solid time-waster that’ll scratch that old school gaming itch.
