what a great game. easy to play, tricky to master, no sneaky pay to win business model, just one up front payment. the graphics are so inviting and the courses are varied. the physics are so cool, they keep you on your toes. i bought it to keep me occupied on holiday but i cant put it down, im obessed with getting that birdie on every hole on every course and im pleased to see more courses are planned.
Reviews for OK Golf
← Back to OK GolfSo good. Absolutely fun, addictive, and relaxing. Filled with Easter eggs and secrets too. So many stages. Developers worked hard. Hidden gem. Trying to find ways to get hole in one on every stage is satisfying. Great to get to play and zone out. Seems much better than when I tried a long time ago.
I don't understand the negative reviews for this game. It's a great game. Simple controls, looks great (pics don't do it justice), reasonably good on batteries, ~99 holes to play (haven't actually counted), and the "music" is relaxing. In response to other stupid reviews. Physics are fine. It's entirely possible to get birdies. Par is usually pretty simple to get and birdies require slightly more thought. And you can shoot through trees where is makes sense to. This is definitely a casual game, so don't expect overly difficult gameplay. There are some camera issues in regards to trees, but this effects maybe 2-3 (out of ~99) holes and it's not a problem for the rest of the game. There is nice variation between courses. And, as said earlier, they look really cool. I was really surprised by how much I liked this game. Replay value is fairly small, but you get a ton of good holes to play. Either way, simple, looks good, and fun.
Bought this game about a week ago and I'm really enjoying it so far. Some of the holes are pretty challenging, but it's a very easy game to pick up and play. With all of the courses and secrets to find, there's a good amount of content so I don't mind the cost. All in all, I'm pretty happy with it. The only thing I would change is the camera angle. Sometimes you can't see what you're doing because of where the golf ball is and I can't move the camera angle to see better. Otherwise a great game!
If you're looking for the most frustrating, badly-designed golf game, look no further. With no ability to modify ball spin, apply hook or slice, or even change clubs, this is the laziest implementation of a casual game of golf I've ever played. Add onto that the most questionable physics engine out there and you've got a real loser of a game here. Stay far, far away.
Reviews aren't lying, the controls are Wierd. Played four holes, looks great, first hole, in one! What's so bad? Then the next saw a variety of random angles, shots changing or going to cancel, balls rolling uphill to go oob, and a tree blocking your view because the camera is locked during shots. Can't play anymore to be honest, just glad it was free credit that brought it.
Inconsistent. The ball doesn't actually follow the trajectory. Yeah there's error, but my line sway always shows me going over the trees, but it keeps putting me through them. Large gap between max average shot and a power shot. Chip distance is pathetic. No reason why I can't go further than like 3 squares from the sand or grass. This mixed with the frame rate during a shot... Nah. There's far better out there.
Very disappointed. A golf game that offers quite a bit of content and is meant to be somewhat relaxing. However, I found even just shooting to be very difficult with the shot line and angle not appropriate to other similar golf games I have played. Even more frustrating is the suspiciously bad camera controls, and this is compounded when wind suddenly forces you to make a shot off screen because you can't check wind speed or direction.
Haven't played long but initial experience was cool. Although controls ARE a bit wonky (i.e. frustrating) this to me is offset by the fact that they are also intuitive and the isometric view is way cool.. This being said I must also add that way more frustrating than the wonky control is that big black dialog box that pops up at the top of the screen blocking my view of the course. You know the one that explains things that I can't seem to get rid of until I shoot semi blindly.
Now this could have been a fun game if they would had thought it through. Example: A par 3 implies that you can reach the green in one shot, nope not in this game 2 shots minimum sometimes 3. Tee shots over shoot the fairways, fairways and greens always seem to have a slope right where you need to be for the next shot making the ball roll off into the abyss. Games should be fun not nonsensical and frustrating. If you want to keep people playing your game you need to keep that in mind!
Good game, but a little frustrating. Feels limited by it's simplicity - only allowing the player to use three clubs: long range, short range and putter. The long range club only has one set distance which is frustrating. Good fun, but quickly becomes repetitive as there's only ever one or two ways to get under par for each hole.
Harder than real golf. No chance to get on the green for anything other than a par putt on many holes, meaning you're left with hoping for a hole out birdie - if you can even reach. The shot arc can lie to you; you might go shorter or hit a tree when it shows a clear shot. Some distances require in-between power & regular shot length, so you have to aim for power but let the line waggle until it deigns a shorter length. Not sure how long I'll play this one. It feels...hinky. And frustrating.
You will probably start off right in the middle when you start and maybe think it's not too intuitive or graphics not to complex and quickly go lower and discard it. But I say give it a good go and you will indeed find lots to appreciate. Ok Golf ⛳️ 👌 👏 Also I don't review many games but this reminds me of Friday the 13th Block Puzzle game that just was rocking with creative content. Much appreciated to the developers who offer these types of downloads to play for free or marginal prices.
Great, easy to pick up golf game. Only issues are: The camera angles - you can't always see where you are due to poor positioning or obstacles you can't see through. An option to be able to fix the camera where it is before taking a shot would be handy. The shot guide could be a bit more intuitive, especially with obstacles - having to work out whether it's hitting something is fine, but it doesn't always seem as though it will hit something, but it does. Having the ability to add spin. Part of the joy of this game is the simplicity, but I don't think adding spin/a couple of other club choices would be too much. The multiplayer doesn't seem to work that well (it may be that not many others are playing, though).
Fun, not without flaws. The game looks amazing, I love the art style. My main problem is the camera and lack of control. Most holes I didn't know where the flag was and just kind of had to guess where to tee off. Even then sometimes due to trees or other obstacles I couldn't see where my ball would end up due to the camera being somewhat locked in. A top down view option would be appreciated.
I've always enjoyed this game. It's as easy or difficult as you make it. Had this installed on multiple devices as a "time passer". Down to 3 stars because it hasn't been updated in a while. No new content, and sorta' laggy on android 11. And for people saying the angles are weird, I have better luck playing this game vertically rather than in landscape mode!
Fun with minor issues. Great environments, fun gameplay. You can't turn the sound off! If you want to play while listening to music or podcast, you're gonna hear the music and hitting of the game. Add an option to turn off sound! Other complaint is against hidden objects. Let's say you get a pumpkin on a level, and now have found 30/50 pumpkins. Then you go back to that level, it just shows 0/2 red bears (? I don't know what they are). The point: add better tracking of what you've found in lvls
Good game but frustration sets in early on. Too soon into the game you are spending half an hour on one hole to get three stars. A series of three to four perfect shots are required by the fourth and fifth courses. The kind of shot making you expect on the last course not halfway through the game. Like all mobile games it should be a throw away, time waster, a way to blow off steam, not a game that makes you want to hurl your phone into the nearest wall.
*If you got this game after they added the Moon level, you can't do tutorial there. No flag until you hit red launch button. This game is fun/ pretty mellow. Easy to play but can keep attention for a while if you like. There's plenty of smiles to be had, but there's some frustrating angles to be considered as well. Camera can get annoying due to the simplicity they are trying to incorporate. Overall worth the price for a game that's not trying to sneak up on you with iap or any other lame model.
An amazing amount of content packed into a small premium package. The low-poly look reminds me a bit of Hitman GO, though less "tabletop aesthetic," and the courses have interesting hole layouts. Controls are simple enough for what the game is--getting three stars on all courses will be challenging, but it's definitely possible. I've noticed that from Hawaii onward, the physics are cranked up a bit on some later courses--maybe to up the difficulty--leading to balls conveniently rolling down into sand traps and water hazards from inclines that would normally have less effect on the ball. I'd rather the physics be consistent all around. Also, if the ball is obscured by trees or other obstacles, the outline of the ball is shown, but the objects in the way don't become transparent, making it difficult to line up shots at that point. Despite these minor issues, the game is still great overall. Lots of replay value in going for better scores, playing the other game modes, finding hidden holes, etc. Also, for anyone experiencing the recent glitch where nothing happens after the ball goes into a hole, just uninstall and reinstall the app. Easy fix.
