Reviews for Phase 10: Casual Card Game

← Back to Phase 10: Casual Card Game

I like the game, but HATE the limited energy. Some games have six levels and require energy for each level which takes HOURS to replenish, even more if I'm not the winner of each round. After a full night's sleep, I barely have enough energy to finish one match, requiring hours before I can complete another. I am less likely to play if I can only win a level a day (even assuming I win).

The game started off really fun but after so many levels it becomes impossible to win. Conveniently the "bots" have great hands every time and slam you with skips. Then if you manage to win a few hands and get ahead of them, they come back with winning hands, sometimes before you can even draw. Sucks the fun right out when it's so rigged against you. Seems the only way you could beat them is to pay money, which I will never do. Don't waste your time with this game!

Tip for everyone having problems with the cheating AI: go back to the map or close the app before the round is scored and it won't count. Multiplayer games are limited to just two phases which makes recovering from a bad first round nearly impossible. Also the buy-in for the most expensive matches is the most shameless kind of whale bait. 2800 coins to join, so even going by the "best value" exchange rates means it costs $7 per game. You can buy the pack of physical cards for $9.99 everywhere.

This game is a good time killer but it's rigged AF! If you have the lead, it's almost a certainty that you will be skipped on the second turn of the dealt hand. Happens nearly every time, and if it doesn't then it'll happen on the third turn. And often you'll be skipped 2 or 3 times in a row. I also notice that once I'm one card away from completing my objective, the CPUs complete their hands. Happens time and time again. Super frustrating

This was really fun to play until I got to level 15. I agree with the other reviews it's stack in the computers favor over and over again. It has completely taken the fun out of the game, feels very unfair, and has become nothing but frustrating. Endless mini games it make you start with no options to skip. I've restarted level 30 about 20 times now every time it lets 2 of the computer plays win immediately, and I don't actually get to play. Why would this be fun? Where is the incentive to play?

I read the reviews. After playing this I realized it's not what most people think. They think they are competing against a random computer player. To me it seems like each round is a puzzle to complete. So each round gets harder and harder. So you get less skips and wilds depending on the goals of that round. It's not as fun as the real game in person. I wish this would be with the 1p phases and be exactly like the game. Not with these random levels.

It's disappointing, and obviously, it is set up to make you pay. 80 coins to play against bots that win on first hand is nasty work. Bots even skip you when the other player has completed a phase. Why skip me? I'll give it a higher rating if it changes, but I'll just play once a day until it improves the experience. If you really like the game, get it. If not, move on to something else. Enough with the Pizza Game ad. It's annoying.

Fun and doesn't require paying money to play. HOWEVER I have 2 complaints that make me super irritated. 1. I shouldn't be forced to watch an ad when I just want to go back to the map, it's one thing to watch for rewards but don't force ads. 2. The fact that the AI players win on the first round multiple times in a row, not even giving me a chance is bull! 5 of one color, color run of 3 and BOTH of the AIs have completed the prompt right away is not fair at all!!!

This has got to be the most frustrating game ever. I understand that sometimes you're going to get a bad hand, but in a real card game it should be random. It's so obvious that the app version is rigged against the player. How is it that my opponents always have several skip and wild cards? Meanwhile, I keep drawing the same number over and over and I'm using up all my energy, which takes forever to replenish. I've been stuck on the same level forever. The game is no longer fun.

The Ai will often make you lose before you are able to even make a single move in journey mode. It's almost impossible to come back. If you quickly exit and force stop the app you can get around it. It won't register. I don't plan on keeping this game around after I meet paid milestone. It's very repetitive. They try to have to pay for everything, and there is still adds.

I love the game for the most part. I do feel like you run out of energy too quickly, and my biggest pet peeve - DO NOT force me to do side quests - even a little bit of it! I hate that part. If I don't want to do them, don't force me to! Let me X out immediately, or better yet, allow me the option to skip it altogether. Forcing me to play even one round before I can move on and get back to the Phase 10 part is just annoying. STOP IT!

Loving the game! There's a lot of components that keep it interesting and addictive. My biggest problem is that it costs 5 energy to play 1 short card game each, and 25mins to recharge 5 energy. It's frustrating to have to wait so long, and it doesn't make a lot of sense for the energy reserve to max out at 50. That's worth only ten 5-min games after over 4 hours of waiting. It just doesn't seem like enough, especially since the events are extremely time sensitive. The game needs rebalancing.

This game is enjoyable. it plays quickly and smoothly, but the AI seems progressively more unbalanced. AI players generate the exact hands they need on the initial draw, sometimes only giving you one round before multiple opponents have secured the advancement conditions. the energy cap at 50 is too low, and takes too long to regenerate. 25 minutes are required to gain enough energy to play 1 free round.

The actual Phase 10 game within is a lot of fun. Lots of variety. But the mini games and side quests to completely detract from the game. I have zero interest, but you have no choice but to spend minutes clicking through them. I don't understand them. They're a waste, and every time I want to pick up the game again, the mini games remind me why I stopped playing. Just give me the option to ignore them.

I really wish I could give this a better review because the play itself is very fun. But this game is honestly awful. You are forced to watch an ad between every round (not every game, every round) and some rounds and after another player has one turn. You also have to spend energy for each round and because the rounds go so fast you can only play for a few minutes at a time. I'm uninstalling

The game is fun, but the matches against the computer are awful. It seems like the npcs get the cards needed to complete the round, sometimes on the very first hand. I spent about 4 or 5 rounds on the same level while the computer opponents got what they needed within 2 rounds. I finished the game with almost -400 points. It's frustrating. The game needs some major adjusting on the cards dealt to make it more fair and not giving the computer gets cards needed to complete the round every time.

2025: They just found more ways to make you pay with playing against a computer which ends up so rigged it's disgusting. the ads and it's not "free to play" you use credit every single round which sometimes lasts seconds..I could go. 2023: Don't even download it. It ends up addicting but in order to even play you have to buy packages to get energy to play just one time. Imagine playing one hand then having to wait an hr or so just to play another hand. Save yourself. It's pissing me off.

Updating my original review since some changes were made, however my rating remains the same. It's good, not perfect. Because it cost 5 energy per round, you easily burn it up trying to complete a single level. The flow of the cards seems inconsistent and gives off a stacked against you kind of vibe that doesn't lure me in multiple times a day like some other games. It's still fun to play, but I'd do so more often if either the hands seemed equitable or if energy didn't burn up so quickly.

it's a fun game, the way they designed the gameplay is very unique. but the mini games and other side hustles they got are the worst and the reason I'll end up deleting the game more than likely. that kitty dice game is so dumb... if you're gonna have mini games at least be somewhat close to the actual game. this is a far reach. hate it

opened Phase 10 to Hello Kitty themes- which I'm not a fan, but stuck with it. it costs currency to "make" a room to play with friends. It costs more currency the more rounds you'd like to play. if only 1 friend can play? Sorry, you don't get to play a game at all, & they still eat the money you put up to make the room. they don't warn you you need 4 people available to play with friends. so, it's a lot of bait & switch, right down to the theme, on top of micro transaction hell.
