The emulator is great, but I have one concern. On MyBoy!, there is a wide variety of combo keys. For example L+A , R+A, b , and all that, but I do not see that here except for a+b. Am I missing something or has that yet to be added? If so, I would really recommend this feature be added to the emulator as it makes playing with touch controls really comfortable. The metroid games are hard to play due to the missiles controls and all sl the combo keys would be helpful
Reviews for Pizza Boy A Pro
← Back to Pizza Boy A ProIt works well, and I've had no problems with emulation thus far. I have noticed a couple of small issues, one being that the press detection of the virtual on-screen buttons can be a little off, the other being a constant background tone that I can hear behind the music in some cases. Overall, it's a good emulator and well worth its price.
Took a bit of a gamble forking over the $5 to get this emulator. It couldn't have paid off more, instead of spending triple digit $$$ to get some hardware, I can spend the cost of some gas station candy to play any GBA game you want. I personally only use it to play Pokémon but Emerald runs like a dream on this emulator. The speed up feature doesn't seem to impact performance that badly either, all around 10/10, no flaws noticed yet.
I don't care if I paid for it to get some extra features, it was well worth the price. Best emulator on here ever with a dedicated dev always trying to improve it. I've used many emulators on here for over a decade and none are as good as the Pizza Boy emulators. It's a big shame you had to remove it, but I understand why. Also props to you for still providing updates despite it being removed for download/purchase.
ABSOLUTELY LOVE! a must buy, do it! It looks and feels amazing! One note, I'm having a problem with haptics on button presses. It's not working for some reason. But that's such minor issue. If I wanted one thing it's full compatibility with Gameboy and Gameboy color games is all, but really it's absolutely worth the money.
I picked this app up, to use on my Android phone, alongside my Saitake STK-7007F1 Bluetooth Controller. This app works as expected with all my favorite GameBoy Advance (GBA) game ROMs. I do wish it had backwards support for GameBoy (GB) and GameBoy Color (GBC) ROMs, but I guess I can't begrudge the developers from making a few bucks by splitting that functionality into standalone apps. The fact that the app can hide the onscreen controls when a controller is detected, is a serious A+!
honestly, it's a really solid app. My only issue currently is I can't get it to boot up. it loads and tells me I need the Google game sub (which I have) then loops. I didn't see the option to flat out buy it, so I switched to a separate account to try and buy it. It only gives me the subscription version. ended up buying the pizza boy C, and well, I should've read the details as it's not the version I needed. so now I'm stuck in a rock & a hard place
Bought this for the autosave but honestly even the free version is worth a fiver. I do have issues with a couple of ROMs, but that's expected from any emulator and it may be an issue with the ROMs anyway. All the other games I play run perfectly and the performance is great. There are a lot of really nice features (even in the free version). For example, you can move the controls wherever you want. If you use PBGBA Free I would highly recommend supporting the dev's hard work and buying pro.
Almost perfect. Would love it if it downloaded box art automatically, there are free apps that do this. Also, I have a foldable and everytime I fold or unfold my phone while playing I have to reset the layout because it's either stretched or shrunk. Would be nice if it detected if your phone was folded or not but at least it's a quick and easy to fix.
Tried 2 other apps before this one to play one game, and both of the other ones had really weird graphical glitches with the game within 5 minutes. Thought it was just the ROM and almost gave up, but saw the reviews for this app and had to give it a try. Played for a full 30 minutes without a single issue. Also the free version had no ads? I was so impressed. Super good quality emulator, came back to store just to buy the pro version to show support and leave a 5 star review. Thanks so much!
Been using this for 3 years now. Great emulator I use it for pokemon roms. Premium is definitely the way to go. You can customize your background, layout, buttons, the position of the buttons, change from the usually directional arrows, have multiple save states, load games with ease, and even rewind the game if you make a mistake. Best emulator for gba out hands down.
excellent feel, and runs games pretty well! this would have gotten a five star rating if these bugs were fixed: cheats; the cheats continuously tell me they cannot be loaded. and crashing: the crashing has caused me to lose saved data time and time again. it happens often, but simple saving frequently could save you from this being a bigger headache than it really is. can't wait to see these bug fixes!
It's the best emulator on the play store imo, but there's this really distracting crackling sound that starts playing under the music after a while. I've noticed it almost immediately when I switch windows, then go back, or use the rewind buttons a few times. I don't think it's my phone, since it doesn't happen with anything else. Please fix this issue- it's to the point it's almost ruining my experience, and I've considered other emulators.
idk much about the cheats but it has them, and just about anything you'd want out of an emulator. I skipped straight to the paid version to play my favorite games, from my childhood, without any extra hassle and it rose above my expectations. Although, if you're a bit dense, like me, you'll probably accidentally overwrite an hour's worth of progress with the quicksave feature, by speeding through it lol.
Excellent bit of software and a committed dev. If I could request a feature, I actually want to see a paid add-on for GBC games. I am to understand the original Pizza Boy GBC isn't too actively developed now, but would be cool to see it rolled into this app so I could play all my games in one place. I would pay extra for it, honestly. Still, well worth the money, it even plays WarioWare Twisted with full gyro functionality. 5 Stars if GBC is ever added, even as an add-on.
So far it's been amazing. Had it about 4 days. Playing with different settings and skins. Using cheats. Playing with button layout. Very good customization! Very happy with purchase! No ads and no subscription!!!!!!!!!!!!! Update 9/4/24: It's beyond words, amazing!!! Runs perfect, cheats work, everything is customizable! Couldn't be more happy! If your on the fence, buy it! It's better to skip coffee a few days to get this!!
It could be more new user-friendly and give a run down of all features available and where to locate/use them as once you figure it all out is a really good emulator but have had no problems running any games, saves all work fine and even cheats if that's your thing. I do like the customisation options and being able to set up your button locations and colours. could have a greater variety of back drops but for the price can't really complain.
I get to save my files to my actual phone data so I never lose my in-game progress and there's a quick save/load option which is convenient and nice. I didn't think uploading a ROM was hard and just trust others on reddit or yourself to get the app. I trusted both and I think it's worth the money. I lost my PKEmerald Game on another app and this helps me tremendously. plus the fast/ slow speed up option is smooth and very convenient for my replay.
I'm sure the app otherwise works fine, but I am just having a little trouble Exporting/Importing my saves from Basic to Pro. edit: changed my response. export file corrupted due to lack of space on phone. extra controller mappings for save/restore state make a huge difference. worth the $6. using 8BitDo SN30 Pro over Bluetooth. Works like a charm, nowjust gotta play with button mapping to get my favorite configuration. so many options.
Works perfectly well, just a handful of issues I had. The buttons are a bit too close together, causing accidental misinputs. Mainly being an RPG guy, this doesn't affect me much, but for some other game, it could really be annoying. There might be ways to adjust the button layout, but at default, it's a bit rough. The GBA aesthetic is also really cool, but I feel like default should be a full screen mode that can be toggled. Lastly, Discord Notifications might not show up while playing.
