I LOVE this game. It's super detailed & like having a mini version of City Skylines on your phone. One thing I HATE though, is placing roads, zones & buildings. Zooming or dragging while trying to build pops up the confirm dialogue if it's a valid placement, but if you don't want it there, then you have to hit no, then go through the build menu all over again. When you click no, it should put you on same menu you were on! Roads go willy nilly all over the place, unintuitive for touch control
Reviews for Pocket City 2
← Back to Pocket City 2I adore this game. It's so much better than the first. There are a few bugs and glitches and it's not always self explanatory, but I've poured hours into this and I'm still having fun. I LOVE getting to build your city and then explore it as your avatar. The sad thing is it seems as though the dev has all but forgotten the game. The discord is dead and the only support available comes from the community.
It's definitely an improvement from the first game so far, it's just laggy... I have all the extra stuff turned off for quality and it will still lag and freeze sometimes. Nothing horrible or game breaking really, just ainor annoyance. Otherwise yeah, great second game so far Update: upon further playing, the more my city grows the more laggy it gets, it will get so bad it will stick on fast forward and won't let me tap to go back to normal speed. Begining to get unplayable unfortunately. 😢
Holy cow now THIS is how you do a sequel. I don't usually take the time to leave reviews but this game is VERY GOOD. I played the first Pocket City a lot and even now it's still a fantastic game and this takes it to a whole new dimension. I can't believe how much new stuff you can do now while still preserving the original experience. Best part? Not a single micro transaction in sight just like the original. BRAVO!!!
Pretty fun! I love the idea, and execution is pretty good. Here's some cons tho - driving could be improved, more left, right, pedals and hand brakes would be fun - overtime, cities begin to lag, and it becomes unbearable - more quests, more in depth things, like highways, water trucks, trucking companies, etc - drivable boats, fishing, oceans That's about it tho, the game is really well made!
Game is actually a lot of fun. I thought I would have been bored of it by now, but I'm on my 4th city on the hardest difficulty and am loving it. I do wish the maps were larger. It's hard to envision something grand with a country side or a vast farm land with it's current limited amount of space. Also, wish there was a couple more road variations, but it being a Pocket City it keeps true to it's simple nature.
Wow...they really out did themselves on this. The first pocket city was great but this is just...amazing! All the extra details and events and features! The first game I felt I had to rush through and build. But this game makes me want to slow down and explore it all and take in all the cool minigames and events and other awesome features. I rarely, I mean RARELY, have anything good to say about mobile games but these guys knocked it out of the park!!!
A delightful game. No ads. No in-app purchases. Really cute art style and animations. Stress-free gameplay. My only criticism is I wish it performed better. The frame rate goes down quite a bit as you build more and more. Even with that issue I still feel like this game is more than wonderful enough to deserve 5 stars
I love this simulation game! At the end of a long day, I find it very soothing to play. I am always up for a challenge & this game gives you a bit of that (especially when I try driving around my city...Ugh! LoL). I also unfortunately, do not have a lot of patience, particularly with annoying Ads!! I love that there are NONE while playing!! Overall, it's a great game that requires, I think, Imagination & Creativity. Both qualities that I enjoy very much! Is there a "Pocket City 3"on the horizon?
overall this is a really really good sequel. my only problem ive had so far is free roam mode being very difficult to control. i have to run around the entire perimeter of buildings to find the entrance as it's nearly impossible to distinguish, and the joystick seems to decide whether it wants to go where you told it to completely at random. i spent a solid 5 mins trying to jump up on a dumpster and then the roof of a building to reach a box only to then be told i need an axe to open it.
Fun game, and a nice expansion of the earlier version. Adds a lot of high-level builds, and expanded quests. I really like the expanded mechanics for production, sales, and water/waste management. The free roam ability is fun to get down and see what it's like in your city - but it's super laggy once the city is busy, which makes the mini games pretty unplayable.
Absolutely love the overall game, but it is so insanely laggy and crashes so often now that it makes it unplayable. I'm not able to build any megas. I'm not able to do any city competitions. Any time there's a quest pop up where I have to enter the building, I have to ignore it because if I try to enter a building it will crash. I can't use the controls in free roam because they seem to have a mind of their own. Between the controls and the crashing, I also can't do any of the mini games. 😞
This is exactly what I wanted! Lots of progression! I'm actually very surprised that the first-person view, not only is it fun, but is actually one of the gameplay loops. You can drive cars and helicopters like a maniac; you will occasionally find rare resources that will help you build more stuff. The random events get you to stop what you're doing to go help and keep things from getting too boring. The game is funny as hell! I love seeing things like a citizen on fire saying "This is fine."
One of my favorite go to simulation games. I enjoy being able to name my own towns. I wish there was a little more options to interact with the NPCs like the towns people and fire chief. Maybe even customizing them would be cool. Give it a more role play/create a person feel to the game. Controls are 10/10 especially because you can choose landscape or portrait mode.
Pretty enjoyable once you get momentum financially in game. In the beginning starting completely from scratch, it's tough to not go broke. I recommend pausing the time clock as much as possible in between road, zone, and infrastructure building as to not let the game deplete the minimal funds you have as the clock ticks on and you're taxed to death etc. THEN, try to accept and "complete" as many requests made by NPC's in the game to earn money needed to stay afloat. After that, it's gravy 👍
Better Than Most Modern Sims! For a mobile game that costs far less than a AAA PC release, this game is smoother, the mechanics work properly and you have a lot of control to influence the city. The research tree is a nice touch allowing you to add density/supply/demand without having to rezone, it also allows you to manipulate you RCI mix in a fun way. It's no Cities Skyline, but then it works and you can build out a full city, so there's that. As a returning player from Pocket City 1 A+
Okay. Yes it crashes, rarely, without any loss of progress though, so no 5 stars. But it depends on what you're looking for. I really loved the first game. I will say this game is much more in depth. So if you're looking for a city building game that you can just plow through or ease through at a swift, satisfying pace like pocket city 1, honestly this isn't it. However, the additions they made are really great on their own. If you loved 1, I would definitely recommend trying 2.
I've been working on a city for some time now, no ads, no in-app purchases, the game is worth the price (I got it with a free play pass 3-month subscription). They have creative mode for those who want infinite recourses. They have difficulty's for those who want a challenge. They also have quests, events, tasks, and more for those who want to have a constant entertainment. Totally recommend, 5-stars
I really like it! It's more of a challenge than the regular PC, and it does freeze up, but usually not for too long. It did heat up my phone a lot, but I turned the waukity down some and it still has great graphics. I love how the characters are so goofy lol, and I like how detailed the city is! Overall I really like it, the only downside is the freezing, once again, it's not for very long usually.
Much fun. Much crash. I have the Sony Xperia 1 IV and it can run GameCube games, yet this game freezes and crashes every time I play. I really like this game but I'm getting fed up with the freezing. PLEASE look into what is happening. I want to keep playing. P.S.: I recommend studying the SimCity games, from first to last, and see what type of mechanics are implemented to give the games challenge and immersion. Ex.: in SC2013, you need HIGHLY educated peeps for nuke pwr plants.
