So here's my take on Skul: The Hero Slayer. I've tested a bunch of action rogue-lite games and this one's right up there with the best of them. The combat is just so fluid and satisfying, with a ton of different playstyles to experiment with thanks to all the unique skulls. Dying never feels too frustrating either, since the levels are quick and you're always unlocking new stuff. My only real gripe is that the upgrade system gets a bit of a slog later on, but it's nothing game-breaking. Overall though, I'd highly recommend Skul to anyone who's into this genre.

Description

I’ve been playing Skul: The Hero Slayer for a couple months now. It’s basically a fast-paced action game where you play as a little skeleton dude and try to fight your way through a bunch of levels. The gimmick is that you can find and equip different skulls, and each one gives you a unique set of abilities. So the combat is pretty electrifying as you’re constantly swapping heads to find the right combo.

The main thing is going through the Demon King’s castle, which has a ton of rooms to explore. There’s a bunch of different enemies to fight and items to find, and the levels are randomly generated so it’s always a new challenge. You’ll also team up with other demon characters and do co-op battles, which is a nice change of pace.

Look, if you’re into rogue-like games with a lot of replayability, you’ll probably dig this. It’s not perfect – the progression can get a bit grindy after a while – but overall it’s a really solid action game with a ton of variety.
