Kotor 2 is one of my all time favorite games, but you shouldn't buy this app. Like everyone else is saying, crashes and glitches are constant. Uninstalling and re-installing does nothing to fix this in my experience. The Kotor 1 port worked great for me, but I've pretty much accepted that this is unplayable until some kind of update is made. Too many people are having the same problem on different devices.
Reviews for STAR WARS™: KOTOR II
← Back to STAR WARS™: KOTOR IIJust as good as the original console version. Everything seems to have carried over well, just like with KOTOR. There are a few gun turret minigame segments that are a little more difficult due to the nature of playing on mobile, but they still aren't too bad. I've seen a lot of people say they had bug issues, and I don't know that I had more than 1 in 30 hours of play time. I definitely advise saving early and often throughout the game, bugs or not.
I love the game, but it's horribly broken. For the first couple hours of the game I had to save/load after every fight in order to be able to move. Then after putting a few more hours in it just consistently crashes. There is one thing I can do in the game (leave the planet) and every time I do it crashes. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but the cloud save is many hours behind for some reason. I'm incredibly disappointed in how broken the game is.
The game would be great if it didn't crash so often. It looks like it promises the same experience as the original and that's cool. But, I've had some issues. Firstly, it's unplayable for me whenever I try to use an adapter for my headset. I'm playing on a galaxy note 20 5g, android version 11. Whenever my usb adapter is plugged in the game crashes at startup. Then even without the adapter, it likes to crash after in-game cinematic. Should the game get some updates my rating would be 4/5.
It plays and runs great. Although, you guys should update it to include the Restored Contents. The base game is full of plot holes without it, and it gives us more content, with new planets. That would make it even better. Edit: Idk what the hell they did, but not only are there constant crashes since the new update, but NOW it's asking to track my other app activity. Fix this NOW.
Note 20 ultra. Was crashing after opening scene. Turned resolution down to 1080p and now I can play. I doubt this is the only issue I'll run into on "early launch". I hope to give the game a 5 star soon as it if one of my favorite of all time. Hope they make another in the coming years. Will update soon with more bugs or fixes. For now it's a 2 star.
Update: Uninstalled and re-installed. Got through two main story planets and now crash whenever I try to go anywhere on the Ebon Hawk. Emailed dev almost a week ago and have heard nothing. Overall the port is fun. UI is pretty well-suited for mobile. However, the game is prone to crashes. I've reached a point (cutscene to Telos polar zone) where it simply crashes whenever I board the shuttle from the base to the academy.
Great game, love the nostalgia, it ported well, and many other awesome aspects. However I keep running into a big on the Ebon Hawk. When entering the galaxy map to choose a destination to travel to there is nothing. so I'm stuck on the Ebon Hawk and no way to progress. Super bummed about it and would love a fix if possible. Until then a refund is in order, because the game is literally unplayable due to the bug.
Over 22 hours of game time. Once you kill the squid dude and speak with Mira in the room. The game crashes about 5 to 10 seconds later. Cant seem to find a way to fix it. Using an Andriod Galaxy S20 also tries editing the files and re-installing the game, no luck. Looks like I just had to start a new game all over, haven't had an issue with this bug. Hopefully no one else has to deal with that. Great game over all, great port.
The game is great controls are easy. The only problem is there are bugs when you are trying to travel to certain planets that crashed the game. the only way I was able to get past them is I save the game then i talk to everyone on the ship as much as I can then travel where I wanna go (without skipping the cutscenes) it usually works after 5 or 6 tries. Don't give up on a great game!!
All fixed, great port now. I've been waiting for a pretty long time to see this come to the app store. Seeing it this morning I wasted no time in buying it. Now for the 2-star part; it's bugged in the way that almost every time you exit a combat scenario (and once after an early dialog with Kreia), your character freezes up and refuses to move until you restart or load a save. Considering the amount of early combat and early dialog interruptions, I couldn't even get off of
The game is very finicky. After a lot of wasted time, I was finally able to get past the first cutscene, but then when traveling to a different planet, it keeps crashing. I have a Galaxy s10+, so it isn't because of my phone. You can sometimes get around it if you don't load a save right before traveling, but good luck! Other than that it seems like a pretty good game (I haven't gotten far yet), although it seems almost like a copy of the first one. It has better controls/mechanics though.
Having loved the original Kotor, I jumped at the opportunity to play the second one. With the content restored, this feels like a much better gameplay experience, but I must say I am disappointed to be seeing pop up ads in a 15 dollar app. Would have been at least 4 stars if those same ads weren't popping up any time I try to read a log or fight an enemy.
Great game. Great memories. Problems with the game crashing, though. I cannot progress farther than citadel station. The game crashes every time the cutscene of the shuttle launching out of the hangar finishes. This is a huge disappointment. Please fix. Edit: Tried again after 6 months. Fresh install. Will not get past the opening cutscene before crashing. Edit 2: After another reinstall it is working. I will update my review rating after I have re-evaluated game stability.
I am a huge fan of the series, as short as it may be. I played through both one and two on PC, but this one consistently crashes. I just remade my character four times in less than a literal three minute span because the game crashed AS SOON AS I hit the button to play. Gameplay is fine, well, when I can get to it. The game itself is well done, but these little bugs and constant crashes are very annoying.
Love this on mobile! Touch controls on this one make it even easier to play with one hand! (Yeah yeah. Insert giggle.😅) Only complaint is that in KOTOR 1 you can go to the phone home screen and use other apps, then pop right back in and have your game waiting on you. This one, everytime I go to the home screen the game resets. I've lost a lot of progress this way. Just remember to quick save often. Thankfully that's right on the too of the screen. The ability to add mods from a PC is great!
This is an awesome port. Though I miss the extended content mod, there are some clear improvements made here over the original. One thing I really liked is the steady FPS. A very clear improvement over the OG Kotor2. However, the game is not perfect. Example: one a character has crossed the 20 threshold in Treat Injury and Repair they should be able to break down items for base part value. However, regardless of skills I can only break down items for either component or 1 chemical. Not good.
I've never bought something so quickly in my life. It's almost exactly the same game as the PC version, so if you want to know more, look up reviews from when it originally came out. It's still the same rushed game, bugs and all, from 2005. This port has a similar UI to the KOTOR 1 port, but adds a few things such as the ability to flourish your weapon and switch to a secondary weapon on the fly. Mod support works, so do yourself a favor and get the Restored Content mod for a proper ending.
Great game, with tons of references to the first KOTOR. Tons of content, keeps you entertained forever. Unfortunately, it crashes a lot! I have had to reinstall the game 3 times, and haven't even gone though half a playthrough. I still think the purchase was worth it, but hope they fix it as it seems to be a common issue.
I love KOTOR II a ton and I'm glad they finally got a decent port to mobile. This is a great Star Wars story that now is on the go! There are some aspects of the port that makes the gameplay a little janky (such as when I'm looking around I'll accidentally start a conversation with one of the party members, when I only wanted to look left). Overall though, fantastic game!
