Reviews for Subnautica

Absolutely phenomenal mobile port. It's the entire game. Nothing taken out, nothing added in, nothing behind a paywall. And it runs beautifully. I use a midrange $400 Chinese phone meant for camping, and it runs on it amazingly. It's perfectly optimized for mobile. And of course, Subnautica is one of the best survival games ever made. I would say it's genre defining. If you're a mobile gamer, this is the game to play. It will set a new standard for the industry, I'm sure of it.

I am definitely quite impressed with the optimizations on this game, and have no doubt it'll continue to be improved. There are some minor bugs, like in other reviews, but nothing too serious. I did encounter one thing seemingly unique though, when constructing the sea moth it appeared about 150 meters away from the mobile vehicle bay. And on the topic of optimization, I would like to see some more advanced graphics settings, especially for foliage.

Fantastic gameplay experience. Subnautica's a big game so I was worried about performance, but it runs smooth as butter on high graphics even on a device that's a little older. The controls feel good as well. Subnautica's a masterpiece of a survival game, and I would highly recommend it - although definitely not to anyone prone to heart attacks 💀

Absolutely hands down best port to mobile ever! The game has hours of discovery and entertainment. you get to unravel a mystery and build a giant base under the ocean and explore the depths and discover ancient ruins. It was a five star game on PC. Now the entire game is on mobile and it's perfect! And I can stop playing on my phone but continue the same save with my tablet! Great job devs! You knocked the ball out of the park with this one!

loved this game on PC, but I was a bit worried about how they'd handle the controls and tone down the graphics for mobile. so far, I'm really impressed. playing on a pixel 9 pro fold and there is native resolution for both inner and outer screens, the game looks beautiful still and the controls take all of 5 minutes to get used to. went and caught myself some peepers with no issue at all, haven't had a chance to test all vehicles yet, but so far so good!

So far this mobile version of Subnautica is awesome. It's not lagging on my Pixel 6 Pro. I have not started building a base yet so that remains to be determined in regards to lag. Performance and graphics are pretty nice thus far. So far 5/5! Def recommend. Update: Trying to scan while moving is very hard to do. It'd be nice to move camera while holding scan button. Also, the lockers won't allow the very bottom row to be filled when being dragged unless dragged at specific crosshair in box.

I had this game Pre-Registered and got it day 1! Amazing job! I love the little small differences compared to PC/Console. Graphics are fantastic. Controls are much better than I was expecting. I have run into one small bug so far, but it is nothing serious. When I get out of the Seamoth, sometimes it doesn't let me out, and I have to press the button to get in, then get out again. I am hoping ya'll will add a resource highlight feature like on PC. Amazing job!

I've got this game on PC and the Switch, I prefer the PC version, but on the go, I'd bring along the Switch. I'm using a Galaxy S23 Ultra, and honestly, this game plays better so far on my phone than the Switch. Load times are way faster, not as fast as on my PC, but much quicker than on my Switch. I've noticed a few quirks here or there, but not game breaking, and so far, about 5 hours in, I've not had any crashes. This also works fine with my external controller. It's definit a 👍 up for me.

Feels just like the original game! (So far) I don't know how the on-screen controls are since I'm using an Xbox controller. But, playing this game on mobile is just like playing it on Xbox (aside from a couple of UI changes). Playing on max settings, the game still runs smoothly. It drains my battery and generates heat slightly less than CoD Mobile does, and there isn't any detectable lag. (Playing on Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra) I look forward to seeing how the story compares to the Xbox version.

I am a very VERY experienced player of Subnautica. And THIS. This is fire. I personally just love the idea of getting absolutely horrified by Reaper Leviathans on the road. The thing I can't really get behind is the scan is immediate, unlike the console and PC version of this game, and also I feel like the graphics can be more you know... optimized due to overheating from long sessions. And when you craft the survival knife, the caption is wrong. Other than all that, pretty good port! I like it.

Heard this referred to as a type of Immersive Sim, and I can't fully deny it. Full freedom to do as you want, explore and build as you want. The premise is really interesting and the game places appropriate limitations on you to make you vulnerable yet still want to go further. I decided to wait for the mobile version over playing 1st on PC, and the touch controls are great, especially in menus. So far it's wonderful. I want to keep going. Get it!

Ive loved this game ever since I first seen it release in beta, ive followed it throughout its journey and now im able to play it finally on my phone! The game is amazing. The only complaint i have is the vehicle controls feel kinda clunky, I could see it being fixed by adding a vehicle sensitivity? But definitely great job bringing this to mobile Unknown Worlds!!!

Playing on a Pixel Fold with a GameSir G8 Galileo, for context. I can't believe that this game can adapt even to the unique aspect ratio of this device unfolded. I appreciate that, though scanning with the touch controls may be instant, scanning using a controller behaves exactly as it does on all other platforms. I love that consideration to both control schemes is given. An absolute gem, and worth the price even to someone that owns it on consoles already. 5/5, 10/10, 👍🏻 💙

Works phenomenally on my s23 so far! Doesn't heat up my phone and I haven't experienced any frame rate issues yet. The controls have been easy to get used to and the graphics are gorgeous! The biggest surprise is that it doesn't actually drain my battery that badly! All around fantastic mobile port of an already fantastic game!

I love the game but have 3 complaints. 1. Thermoblade is not cooking the fish. I tried restarting the game and it doesn't fix the problem. 2. When In submersible this will frequently happen, it will get stuck going in an upward direction all on it's own, and the only way to stop is go into options go to unstuck and back all the way out. It does this wanting to take off in a downward direction and all have to do the same thing for that as well. It happens many times a day. 3. rss not respawning .

I absolutely love the game. It's a wonderful port of the game and sure it's heavy on my phone's battery but it's absolutely worth it. One slight bug though is that when I first make a seamoth, it spawns 200 or so meters from where the mobile vehicle bay. The little worker drones don't build it either, it just spawns in 200 meters away with the PDA talking about the seamoth.

I was really impressed with the performance for my older device (Samsung Galaxy S20 5G). Sure, it's not perfect, but even when it does slow down, it stays pretty consistent and not for long. I've encountered only minor lighting and audio clipping bugs. I purchased the game on day one, but aside from messing around in creative I've only just started playing. Controller support is fantastic and you can seamlessy switch between controller and touchscreen mode, if you prefer. Very impressive port!

Excellent game, excellent port. I loved Subnautica on PC, amazing open world exploration, and I still love it on my phone. There are a few graphical glitches, mostly with lighting, but I had those on my lower end laptop, and I don't have a high end phone either. The controls are intuitive, it is quick to save and quick to load so you really can pick up and play for small bites of time, and I am shocked at how it doesn't eat my battery or even make my phone that hot. Highly recommend.

Love it so far!! For such an enormous game, it runs insanely smooth and barely gets my S22 Ultra hot while other games do so big kudos to the developers. The only small thing/improvement I'd suggest is the controls. They feel a bit awkward with the hand sometimes but I think I'll get used to that soon. It also took me way too long to figure out how to use and consume stuff in the inventory so maybe a bit more clarity on that in the tutorial. Otherwise, it's just fantastic.

It plays just like the PC version❤️. What's nice is that the game can auto save, so if you have to suddenly get back to work, you can easily pick where you left off. The controls are very intuitive, and the PDA touch screen ability is nice to quickly move materials around. The only downside to the game is that it's very energy heavy so it can overheat your phone, if your not careful, however, you can go in and change your options to lessen the load on the battery.
