So here's my take on The Past Within. I've tested a bunch of co-op games and this one really stands out. The concept of one player in the past and one in the future is super clever and makes for some great teamwork and communication. The puzzles are challenging but not overly complicated, and the Rusty Lake art style is awesome as always.

On the downside, the pacing can feel a bit slow at times, and the communication between players doesn't always work flawlessly. But those are pretty minor issues in an otherwise really solid co-op adventure game. If you've got a friend who's into puzzle games, I'd definitely recommend giving The Past Within a shot.

Description

Been playing The Past Within for a couple months now. It’s basically a co-op point-and-click adventure game where you and a friend work together to solve mysteries. Basically, one of you is in the past and the other is in the future, and you have to communicate what you see to help each other figure stuff out. There’s all sorts of puzzles and worlds to explore – it’s a really cool concept.

The best part is teaming up with a friend. And you each see different things on your screens, so you’ve gotta talk it out and share info to progress. It takes some coordination but it’s super satisfying when you finally crack a tough puzzle. And the art style is great – has that classic Rusty Lake vibe.

Look, if you’re into adventure games and solving mysteries with a friend, you’ll probably love this. It’s not perfect – the pacing can drag a bit at times and the communication aspect doesn’t always work smoothly. But overall it’s a pretty unique and engaging experience. Worth checking out if you want something new to play with a buddy.

Really great! My team played the "Butterfly" version. You should play Roots to get a better grasp of the plot and kind of feels like semi retcon of that end...
