I’ve been using Townscaper for a couple months now. It’s basically a block-building game where you can construct little island towns and cities. Pretty relaxing and satisfying to play around with.
Here’s what you do: You just plop down colored blocks on an irregular grid, and Townscaper’s algorithm automatically turns those blocks into cute little houses, bridges, stairs, and other buildings. There’s also a color palette you can use to customize the look. And you can build all kinds of stuff – small hamlets, towering cathedrals, canal networks, even floating sky cities on stilts. And lots of options to get creative.
Look, if you’re into relaxing, open-ended building games, you’ll probably like Townscaper. It’s not a hardcore game with goals or high stakes – it’s more of a toy than anything. But that’s the charm of it. There’s no pressure, you just build whatever you feel like. The graphics are nice and it runs smoothly even on older phones. Overall it’s a pretty solid little app, worth checking out.
