Could be a great game.... runs smooth, graphics are great. But after a few months of playing it's just not much fun because there is almost nothing you can do against the big spenders. Even with monthly card and occasional pack purchase, the high Castle levels just keep getting stronger and more overpowered. There's little strategy or skill, just a numbers ($$$) game.
Reviews for War and Order
← Back to War and OrderI installed the app because of the advertising. Based on what I expected to see, the game was nothing like it. The actual game itself is very narrow and funnels you into doing the exact same 5 thing everyday. If you skip a day, you are penalized. Over time, it becomes a huge time suck and aggravating. That is of course if you play for free, because like all other Camel games (which are all the same btw), it is very pay-to-play.
I intially downloaded this game to get to the gameplay showed in the Ad. After three plus weeks I never experienced it, even after exhausting other goals in the game. Other aspects were enjoyable. The graphics and interface are wonderfully designed however, it did frustrate me to discover that simple mechanics like upgrading buildings were locked behind a paywall. You could advanced this with in game currency (gems) but they were hard to come by in the numbers needed. I gave up.
I have never been so happy to uninstall a game. I have been playing this game for about 6 weeks. They male it so you need to pay to get anywjere in a reasonable ammount of time, then allow other players t come and take items you have paid for. That is literal stealing. Also, there is so many complicated extras I couldn't understand it all, and I am pretty experienced at games. Stay away. Its a $ scam, big time.
I loved the game but then I kept getting attacked. It was impossible to get enough resources, even with farms, to upgrade. This game became pay to win and the there is no cooldown on attacks on your castle. Others will just go wave after wave and take everything. Went from one of my favorite games to the worst game I have ever played on my phone once i reached a higher level where everyone wants everything you have.
I'm liking so far but the advertisement for the game was misleading. Very in depth for a phone game... but I'm slightly addicted right now. Ok... couple months now. I'm getting into the mid-range levels but the highest level players just keep attacking everyone... no fun when all you do is repair/ heal. Uninstalled. They could do something to limit the attacking/defending levels ...2 up / 2 down or something... bunch of bullies, lol.
The game overall is fun. Until you realise how focused on pay to win it is. For the most part they advertise things as costing very little, but when you do the Math to determine how many packs you actually need to do anything it's a small fortune. One prime example of this is an Item. that can only be acquired by spending IRL moneys. To fully upgrade this item costs in the ball park of $12000.
Edit to my original review. This game started out really fun and relationships were built. This game is very pay to play. Once you hit a certain point you need a resource (Azurite) that is impossible to farm. You literally need to wait for your mine to fill or buy with real $. Everything will require this resource after a certain castle level. If you cannot afford to spend hundreds to thousands of $ on this game don't start. I've invested 5 years and can no longer progress for free.
Tha fact that the the one and only "advertisement" I've seen about this game is a video of Age of Empires stolen and put into their marketing campaign says a lot. If you have to take another games video, without editing it and call it yours instead of real gameplay, then rethink your game or make one that doesn't already have thousands of copy and pasted features like every other mobile game out there. PS. This is not intended as hate, just disappointment.
If you downloaded this because of the adverts showing it to be a dedicated real-time strategy game, I'm sorry for your wasted time. The adverts on YouTube show gameplay that is absolutely not a part of this game. War and Order is not a real-time strategy game, but a standard and very boring base builder that gets old incredibly fast. False advertising is somehow ok now, what is up with that?
The 1000th game exactly like every other. Upgrade your city and every once in a while you get to play the reason you were interested in the game from the ads. Of course it's never mentioned that it's the same game that's been around since 2009 with a new skin. I've played this exact game in other guises, it's just got a different battle mode. As soon as it had "my lord, upgrade the castle" I was like "my lady, time to uninstall"
After 6 years, this game has finally run it's course. In the beginning, the developers were extremely creative and cared about all it's players, but, as with all mmorpgs, the creators became greedy, and now the game is only fun for those willing to spend exorbitant amounts of money. For those unwilling or unable to spend $20-100 per day, your progress in the game, in comparison to the people who are, will be extremely limited. Also, game functionality errors are no longer compensated in-game.
Update: Changing my score to the lowest I can because of all their fake bs ads I see on youtube. They try showing stronghold 3 gameplay, age of empires 2, and some others as their own. Of course, they do not outright and say it but its obvious what they are doing. Its fun and addicting. I really wish all the buildings were closer together to make it look more fluid with the rest of the castle design with added peasants walking and farming the fields but other then that its a fun game. Love seeing my troops standing around or attacking.
Not the game that was advertised. The ads show a fun mindless "shoot the wall before you hit it" game where you can play a round in like 30 seconds. This is an in depth idle game where you build and upgrade a castle, recruit troops, and manage resources. Nothing wrong with that, but stop lying to people. If your game can't survive on its own merit and has to be misrepresented, it shouldn't exist.
Feels like a thousand other games. Let it be known that I only played for 30 minutes, but the entire time was spent point, click, and upgrading over and over. This was only interrupted with brief periods sending out my army to gather or battle, then right back to point, click, upgrade. The biggest disappointment for me was seeing an ad for this game on YouTube and what looked like the ability to arrange the entire look of your city. However, when I played the game, the city was already laid out and there were predetermined plots to plop down the typical city buildings I've seen on a thousand other games. Even so, there are obviously still a lot of people that get enjoyment from this game, so I wish y'all the best.
Fun game, have played it for a little over 3 years. game never stops and makes it so you're active often. that being said you do have to spend money. you can spend a little every week to stay in the race and level up you castle. BUT because the game is pay 2 win theres almost no limit to how much a player can spend. in my last realm players went from c1-c27 in 3 days, c30 in a couple weeks. no competing with the people who can spend hundreds of dollars on the game in days.
After realm merge, players fight over few available level 26-30 monsters. You're misrepresenting your product. The same phenomenon happens to level 5 iron/stone resource tiles. You crowd everyone into a small space. Just a heads-up... If you think that a player with amain account and 10-15 'farm' accounts is rare, you're being naive. I've been playing 4 years and the incremental updates are much appreciated.
It is probably one of the worst games I've ever played, a few seconds of fighting before it jumps straight into a non stop forced tutorial about how to build a base(and no one wants more base building games!) Honestly, the worst part is how bad the audio is, and the fact that there's no way to turn the sound off because of the forced tutorial.. Terrible graphics, worse gameplay.. literally hard to describe what the worst part of the game is! It's THAT BAD!
If you're looking for a game that gives you virtually everything during the tutorial, and then everything else takes ages, this is the game for you. Otherwise, of you actually like playing the games you download, you should look elsewhere. I spent the first fifteen minutes doing free instant upgrades, and then the next hour doing the next basic upgrades.
