So here's my honest take on Ombi. I've tested a bunch of media server management apps and this one's pretty solid. The best part is how it streamlines the request process - no more bugging your friends or admin to add stuff. The voting system is a nice touch too. On the downside, the interface can be confusing at first and there's definitely room for improvement on the design side. But for a free app, it gets the core functionality right. If you're looking to take control of your home media, Ombi is worth a look.

Description

Been playing Ombi for a couple months now. It’s basically a web app that lets you request movies, TV shows, and other content for your Plex, Emby, or Jellyfin media server. Pretty solid app if you’re into that kind of thing.

Here’s what you do: you log into Ombi, click your profile, and scan a QR code to connect it to your phone. Then you can browse through a huge library of titles and submit requests for the stuff you want to watch. There’s also a cool feature where you can see what other users have requested, and you can vote on them. And if a movie or show you want gets enough votes, the app will automatically download it for you. Took me a while to figure that part out but it’s super useful.

Look, if you’re into managing your home media library, you’ll probably like Ombi. It’s not perfect – the UI can be a little clunky at times – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you want an easy way to get the content you want on your Plex/Emby/Jellyfin.
