I've tested a bunch of strategy games on my phone and Spirit Island is one of the more unique and satisfying ones I've tried. The cooperative gameplay is a nice change of pace from the usual solo or competitive titles, and I like how each spirit has its own special abilities that you have to synergize. The graphics are really well done too. My only gripe is that the pacing can feel a bit slow at times, and the upgrades take forever if you're trying to min-max. But those are relatively minor issues - overall this is a great pick for any strategy fans looking for something fresh.

Description

I’ve been playing Spirit Island for a couple months now. It’s basically a cooperative strategy game where you and your friends take on the role of different Spirits of the land, each with their own unique powers. Your job is to defend your island home from invading colonizers who are spreading blight and destruction.

Here’s how it works: you’ll place your spirit tokens on the game board, then use your powers to scare off the invaders and protect the native Dahan people. And there’s a bunch of different spirit abilities – some are good at generating energy, others can summon wild beasts to attack the colonists. It takes some strategy to figure out the best combo for your team.

Look, if you’re into cooperative strategy games, you’ll probably dig Spirit Island. It’s not perfect – can get a little repetitive after a while – but overall it’s a pretty solid experience. Definitely worth checking out if you want a unique take on the settler-destruction genre.
