So here's my honest take on Dr. Panda Restaurant. I've tested a bunch of kids' cooking apps and this one's actually pretty solid. The production values are great - the graphics are colorful and the animations are super cute. And i also appreciate that it covers a wide range of cuisines, not just the usual pizza and burgers. In my experience, the gameplay loop of prepping the ingredients and then serving the food is pretty engaging for young chefs. The only real downside is that it can get repetitive after a while, but that's true of a lot of these types of games. Overall, I'd say it's a great educational tool that kids will actually enjoy using.

Description

Been playing Dr. Panda Restaurant for a couple months now. It’s basically a cooking game where you help Dr. Panda and his animal friends prepare all kinds of dishes. There’s pizza, apple pie, corn soup, stir-fry, smoothies – basically a whole cookbook of international cuisine.

Here’s what you do: you complete mini-games to slice, fry, toast, mix, and bake the different ingredients. It’s pretty satisfying watching the food come together. There’s also feeding the animals and decorating the dining rooms, which is a nice touch. Took me a while to figure out the recycling system but it’s a cool way to teach kids about sustainability.

Look, if you’ve got kids who are into cooking and food, they’ll probably love this. It’s not perfect – the ads can get a little annoying if you don’t pay – but overall it does the job of combining education and entertainment. Worth checking out.
