I've tested a bunch of these tile-matching battle games, and Kaamos is one of the better ones. The core gameplay loop is super addictive, with just the right amount of strategy without being overwhelming. The loot and character customization is a nice touch too. My only real gripe is that the progression can get a bit grindy at higher levels, but it's nothing too bad. Overall, Kaamos is a really polished and fun little roguelike that scratches that strategy itch. Definitely recommend giving it a shot.

Description

Been playing Kaamos for a couple months now. It’s basically a turn-based puzzle roguelike where you fight battles by matching tiles on a grid. The whole thing has this dark medieval vibe – apparently the sun went down and never came back up. Anyway, the battles are pretty fun. You see the enemy’s moves ahead of time, so you gotta strategize how to counter their attacks by dragging rows and columns to line up your own tiles.

There’s a bunch of gear you can equip too – weapons, armor, rings, that sort of thing. It lets you tweak your playstyle, like going for a dual-wielding berserker build or an evasive duelist. And the levels are all randomly generated, so it stays fresh.

Look, if you’re into strategy games with a bit of a twist, you’ll probably like Kaamos. It’s not perfect – the upgrade grind gets old after a while and the ads can be annoying. But overall it’s a pretty solid time-killer with some nice depth to it. Worth checking out for sure.
