So here's my take on Dictionary - Merriam-Webster. I've tested a bunch of dictionary and vocab apps, and this one's pretty much the gold standard. The definitions are comprehensive and up-to-date, and the addition of the word games makes it genuinely fun to learn new words. And in my experience, the search works well and the offline access is super handy. The only real downside is the ads, but that's a small price to pay for an otherwise stellar app. If you're looking to build your English skills, I'd definitely recommend giving this a try.

Description

Been using Dictionary – Merriam-Webster for a couple months now. It’s basically the official Merriam-Webster dictionary app, with all the definitions and meanings you’d expect. Pretty solid if you’re into learning new words and building your vocabulary.

Here’s what you can do: there’s the classic dictionary search, where you can look up definitions and synonyms. But they’ve also added some really fun word games, like quick quizzes to test your knowledge. It’s a great way to pick up new words without it feeling like work. Took me a while to figure out some of the features, but overall it does the job.

Look, if you’re a word nerd like me, you’ll probably get a kick out of this app. It’s not perfect – the ads can get a little annoying if you don’t pay for the subscription. But it’s free to download and use, so worth checking out if you want a top-notch dictionary with a little extra something.

The Ads are intrusive & annoying, plus to remove the Ads you have to pay $1,99 USD a year, which I find to be ridiculous. Talk about GREEDY!!! LOL! There...

I have long subscribed to this app as I think their $6 annual fee is reasonable. However the app appears to be getting worse in each update. Searches take longer...

The app often starts searching after only 3 letters of a word are typed. For example, when searching "example" after typing in the first 3 letters, exa, the app will...
