So here's my honest take on InnoCaption Live Call Captions. I've tried a bunch of accessibility apps and this one is honestly one of the better ones. The live transcription is super accurate, and I love that you can connect it right to your hearing devices. It's a game changer if you struggle to hear on calls. The only downside is the AI captions can be a little hit or miss, but the live stenographer option makes up for that. Overall, I'd say it's a pretty solid app that makes phone calls way more accessible.

Pros

  • Real-time captions so you never miss a word
  • Works with Bluetooth hearing aids and cochlear implants
  • Free and federally funded service
  • Live stenographer option for ultra-accurate captions
  • Easy to set up and use

Cons

  • AI captions can be a bit wonky at times
  • Might be overkill if you just have mild hearing loss
  • Limited to phone calls, no captions for videos/meetings

Description

Been using InnoCaption Live Call Captions for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that transcribes your phone calls in real-time so you never miss a word, even if you’re hard of hearing. Pretty solid if you struggle with hearing on calls.

Here’s what you do – you just stream the call to the app and it shows the captions right on your screen. And there’s also an option to get captions from live stenographers, which is pretty cool. And you can even connect it to your hearing aids or cochlear implants, which is super convenient.

Look, if you have any kind of hearing loss, you’ll probably really like this app. It’s not perfect – the AI captions can get a little wonky sometimes – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you wanna make sure you catch every word on calls.
