Reviews for 1st Phorm

I love Andy's podcast and needed to lose some weight, so I got this app. The app is slow at times, when I click on things from the menu, half the time it takes me back to the dashboard, I can't figure out how to delete things from my meals that accidentally got added or I didn't eat, recipes are hard to find and add etc. It definitely needs some work, but I like where they're going. I also like the price point for premium. Overall, clunky, but it does the job (most of the time.)

Good free app for basics. Subscribe for best use. Pro's: Different types of programmed workouts. Great at tracking macros, big food database and barcode scanner. Con's: When adding sets it pulls up a keyboard instead of just a number pad & scrolls down so you can't see what you're typing. Logging weights it opens a number pad but also scrolls down. Some exercises have alternates, some don't. Can't add add'l sets or excercises. Can't log wgt for each drop set.

It's a decent fitness tracking app. I wouldn't pay for it if I wasn't working with my coach outside of the app as well. At least it's up front about costing money rather than trying to get you with something "free" and then making you pay for premium. It also needs a way to timestamp meals in order for coaches to help identify eating patterns and how they interact with compliance and exercise performance

So great, I hav tried other ways of losing weight and getting in shape, but none have compared! My advisor, Jeremy, is always on top of things. He is quick at responding and it is not justbthe same ol' robotic response. The guidance, team mentality and personalization is first class! The app is super easy to use, tracking food is made simple, the step counter and leaderboard are fun to have for a bit of competitiveness.

I like the concept of the app, but it has so many problems. I have an Android, but it doesn't track my steps. It freezes. There are exercises without illustrations. How can you do an exercise if you don't know what it is. I do like the way it displays macros. I am involved in a challenge, and it lost my photos. I don't know if i will continue after the challenge. It does keep me honest. I wish I could see a printout of my workout notes. Wouldn't be nice if it made food suggestions (wishful thinking) or alarms for bad choices.

Edit. Since dev thinks they're right.. what's missing from literally every app, is an option to SELECT the swapped out workout. It only gives you ONE to swap, and it's never a good one. Give us a list to pick from. As someone who needs to modify some weeks for health its sad that I can't truly track that modification...it has a swap out feature yes, but it'll only have 1 option, and that 1 ISN'T Always there.. either give multiple to pick from, or let us pick based on muscle is grouping.

I like the app but wish at the end of the day, when past midnight, I could go back and add information for the day I didn't have time to add previously. Also, I have a new fitbit and can't get it to sync my steps with the app so it never counts then and I don't know how to add my steps. It's not the most user friendly app, unfortunately, except for the nutrition aspect. I love that part most of all.

This app is amazing. It has become a daily ritual for me as I use it to track my macros & workouts every day. They give how-to videos if you're not sure how to do an exercise. You can scan your foods which is very convenient. You can watch their live videos that teach you & help to stay on track. Not to mention the challenge is easy to register for! Hands down the best app I've used for fitness goals. (I use premium)

I was shocked at the price increase and pondered for some time as to whether or not to continue my subscription. I understand price increases but 100%+ is ridiculous. Nevertheless, I signed up for another month with additional re-evaluation to come. Then, just as I'm nearing the end of my 1st workout after subscribing, the app goes haywire and won't load. Yes, all my other apps were working fine. Not a good start when one is already on thin ice.

I have used the free and the premium versions of the app and have enjoyed both. Like many, I was stunned when they announced such a rate increase but paid it anyway because I enjoyed the options in workouts and the ability to connect with an advisor. I also enjoyed being able to log my food but it doesn't track sodium or sugar intake. I have reactivated my subscription and use the app regularly. It's worth the price. The only thing I would like added is have a sport based training program.

This app is for basic tracking and workout plans. You also have access to blog posts. I use it mostly for tracking and access to coach. I love 1st Phorm but this app needs serious work... It measures solids like bananas and leafy greens as cups. They should be measured as a unit of weight/mass not as a volume. That is just one example of such a weird instance. It glitches a bunch - lagging, erasing, or errors. I could go on, but I'm limited in characters.

I've had the app since last October. Fee was reasonable. Interface is a little slow and bulky but they have great workouts. 2 weeks ago the workouts stopped updating. Then I see the price has increased (while the app isn't even working). I update the app through the play store, and now I can't access anything. (Again while I'm now paying WAY more. Edit: first phorm tech support did a great job working through the issues. Thanks Chico

Absolutely the best app I have used in a long time. The app is extremely easy to use and well worth the $49 fee to get full access. The 1st Phorm team has put in a lot of hard work on this app and it shows. I like this app 100 times better than My Fitness Pal. Looking for a workout program, food tracker, and videos all in one app, then this is the one for you! Not only do you get access to a food tracker and workout tracker, but you also get access to very educational videos onna daily basis.

I have been using this app for over a year and absolutely love it! So helpful in keeping me on track with my food. There is an incredible amount of options for workout programs. The daily "axe sharpenings" are very motivational. The tools provided in this app to help you on your fitness journey are tremendous! I would and do recommend this app to anyone serious about making positive changes to their health and fitness.

Since the recent update I cannot open the app. When it does finally open it only has the carbs, protein, fat title at the top but I cannot track my food or workouts. I am a premium member but with it being this buggy I am cancelling it. I love 1st phorm, but this app since the update causes more problems for me. When it was working it was decent. I didn't like that the only way you can get home workouts is by paying as not everyone wants to go to the gym. If you go to the gym it's not bad.

I love this app! The macro tracking alone has made a huge difference in my eating/nutrition plan. Then we get the daily workouts, and so much more. The app is fully customizable to each person's starting place and goals. For the $4/month premium version, you get access to the daily lives streams. The advisors keep it light, while giving lots of great information. Then they give plenty of time for questions, to make sure we understand. I could go on. Overall, this is a great app. Zero problems.

The service provided by my coach is 5 stars but for the price, this app needs some serious work. Its very clunky to navigate, to name a few annoyances: there's no back button functionality, food tracking is cumbersome (you have to click add food, scroll down, select a meal, click the +, then select again that you want to add food, then you finally get to add), the barcode scanner doesn't scan in any orientation etc etc. UX is in need of an overhaul (happy to join in any user research!)

I love this app! It does take time to get used to and has some minor glitches. For example, when you create a custom meal, set the Servings, and add it to your nutrition tracker, the app adds all Servings, not just a single serving. Overall the content and support are incredible. Jicky, my trainer, is super supportive, informative & encouraging. He gives one-on-one check-ins each week, answers questions, and provides daily info to help you keep growing in your fitness/nutritional goals.

Not worth the cost. Pictures do not take properly with Android phones. 1stPhorm said it was too hard to get it working with all the different Android phones. I use a Samsung Galaxy, one of the most popular, so they should have said, "with the Android phones." You can use the free version of My Fitness Pal just as effectively, unless you are particularly fond of 1st Phorm's particular workouts. Also My Fitness Pal has yearly subscription and free options, for a considerably lower cost.

Complete fitness lifestyle app! So much more than a macro tracker! The daily livestreams are always fine and entertaining and full of useful knowledge. Complete routine of workouts for the week, along with being able to track reps and weights, and 5 different styles of training! Hands down the best and easiest macro tracker out there, a huge database of foods, and it has a scanning tool to make it even easier. Also, you can create custom foods and meals for super quick tracking!
