Reviews for Food Intolerances

← Back to Food Intolerances

This is a good app for those suffering food allergies and HIT. I didn't give 5 stars because the app doesn't allow you to add self-discovery food items to the app. You can only rely on what is on the app. Furthermore, there has been no recent update.

I have mast cell activation syndrome; returning because it's not able to be individualized. Otherwise it's a very nice, clear app that's user friendly. There are notes under several entries with detailed information, but not all.

Extremely useful app. It provides such a enormous amount of information about what you are consuming and quite quickly allows you to confirm the causes of any issues you may be having. There are even links for each item that cite the source for the information and that the app provides should you wish to delve deeper. Food intolerance is an extremely complex issue so don't underestimate the amount of effort and discipline you will need to ensure you get to the answer. This is not some life hack

I have used this app for several years to avoid fructose. one thing I have noticed is that the database keeps getting updated and foods that are still listed as high in fructose in various databases are rated safe in the app. it would be very helpful if you would provide a rationale for changing previously red Foods into green Foods. I have to now search online to get multiple food lists as I consider the app somewhat unreliable for fructose content.

The database seems extensive, but there are 2 UX features that would really help. - Being able to filter categories by colour so you can see just the greens, for example - Closing the keyboard when you hit the search button, it takes up a lot of the screen

6.10.22 Unable to get update to load. 8.21 STILL appreciating this app! It has saved me a few times! --- It's a good start for me and worth the purchase. Surprising number of foods are missing. Looking forward to regular updates. The extra clinical info in the notes on many foods are very helpful.

Missing a few things but i like it. Quick email response as well. I like the simplicity of it all and ability to change something in color to show and even make notes of why you can or can not have it whatever the app says. Missing stuff like adding your own stuff and saving/exporting your settings for another device or optionally logging in to restore those settings Hope these are added in the future

Paid for this app, and it hardly has any food. I'm better off going online for every item I'd like to consume. Don't waste your money. It's never updated and only has basic food items, or food I've never even heard of. Simple items like cranberries, goji, aren't even in the app.

No more Googling! This app is wonderful, it has been so hard to figure out precisely what foods and ingredients have tyramine. My son has been able to avoid foods and ingredients we never would have thought of and has therefore had a much better quality of life for the past few months. The app is very detailed with explanations and points to particular studies and sources of their information. I like how we can make notes and change the color of things we know are safe or more triggering.

Quite a good system, a couple tweeks would get 5 stars from me. An option to setup more then one profile so kids or elderly can be tracked within the family. Also I don't see a reset option. I can uninstall but once reinstalled it held on to the adjustments. So a reset option for individual profile. Great job otherwise and hoping that these two requests look like very good ideas and gets implemented shortly 👌. Thank you

Too many contradictions, especially for a health app. For example, regarding HIT, nuts aren't marked "green" but müsli with nuts is, without further explanation. That wasn't the only contradiction. Useless to me. I'll get back to my analog list for the time being. The interface is quite user friendly, though.

Not as good as the iOS version Dear Team, As I'm migrating to Android and I wanted to help, I bought once again the app but on Android this time. I must say the iOS version is more useful and intuitive, I even I can modify the amount of a portion, set the amount of intolerance I have and much more. I will correct my review to 5 once you improve the android version, as customer and having bought the product again, would be nice at least to have the main functionalities as before in iOS

I'm glad I decided to spend a little bit of money to buy this app. The food database is very big, the filter options work great and the info is solid. The only places where I saw inconsistencies with other sources are actually current subjects of debate in the scientific community so it seems like the creators did a very good job compiling the info. The only slight beef I have with the app is that it's not very appealing to the eye but the simplicity of the UI is great!

Best app for food intolerances I've found on the market and a steady companion since 3 years. They're constantly updating their database according to the newest research, add useful comments for the many cases which are unclear because of contradictory findings in studies or influential factors one has to know about, clarify some myths that have been proven wrong and always add their sources so one can look into the studies or books themselves. The UI looks outdated, but who cares. Great app!

Very good app. I find it more accurate than others. Especially useful if you have more than one type of intolerance.

App useless- Refund requested three times! I got this app to help find foods safe for me with new allergies. After downloading, it became clear that I would have NO access to my main allergy (Balsam of Peru-BOP) because I am using an Android Phone. I paid $10 to download and can't use the app. I have sent three emails (over a few weeks) and received zero responses. If you have an Apple device, the download is free and you can pay for a subscription to access all of the allergens.

I love this app. It's super helpful managing my 4 year okds histamine intolerance allergies and snas. However recently it's been greying out everything in thr list. There is just a teeny plait of color on the far left of the words to see if it's low moderate or high. It's a bit less of a quick glance now but still works.

Absolutely love this app. It is what I use to help me with the low histamine diet due to MCAS. I love that you can also go in and identify any food you have an issue with and it keeps track. Like I react to garlic and I'm able to tell the app that and it shows up as a red food for me. The thing I love the most is that it will tell you the research behind the rating.

Updated the end of July 2024, this app is lifesaver! It's every bit worth the $9.99. It appears well researched and is user-friendly. You can choose whatever dietary restrictions you have and the app let's you know whether food items are green(go ahead), yellow, orange or red(danger zone...my words), and also provides a brief explanation why, which can be helpful. This APP IS extremely supportive in meal planning and grocery shopping! No books to carry around anymore!! THANK YOU!! : )

Great app overall! Super helpful when first navigating through new low histamine diet. Wish for ability to either add additional foods or to make submissions for review to the team. By just going through the grocery store, I found a few items that weren't included. It would be great if we could either submit it for the team to review or add it to the list ourselves to review and rate later.
