Really helpful thus far, I just wish the interactive side wasn't so buggy, especially because I paid for a year and am still expected to pay for a class, which I think is a little bit ridiculous. Using the Twitter like feed is difficult and it does not give you alerts when people follow you nor is it easy to follow people back. The DM function needs work, It's not clear when someone sends you a message and it often doesn't load properly.
Reviews for Reframe: Cut Back on Alcohol
← Back to Reframe: Cut Back on AlcoholI really enjoyed the app but I had multiple technical issues with getting into it at first. I finally figured out how to get into it and heard back from customer service on the issue a few days later. When I tried to cancel I also had troubles. It did not show up under the Google Play account I had used to sign up, it showed up under a different account and had two separate subscriptions. When I clicked on them it showed no subscription. It did not show up until it charged both.
This app is a money grab. I've never received any notifications but for 2 over nearly 3 months. I asked it to alert me multiple times, I set it to remind me before my membership charged me, nothing. They might be trying for positive outcomes, but the application is lacking. Every app I don't like can alert me 3 times a day until I switch it off. This app didn't send me reminders, I reset, set up reminders multiple times, but nothing.
I couldn't even get past the sign-up process. The auth code they emailed me wasn't being accepted, and when I logged in again, the Relationship Challenge option wasn't even in the Discover tab. I wasted a lot of time trying to fix it, but I eventually gave up. I've heard that the iOS version of the app is much better, so I'm hoping that the developers will eventually give the Android version a proper overhaul. Until then, I can't recommend this app to anyone.
Review Edit. Customer Service (app support) is just as amazing as the App.. They were very attentive to my problems, and went and beyond to resolve them. I personally didn't realize it was the weekend, so they were very quick. I emailed the support department asking why my stats from IOS didn't transfer, and haven't gotten a reply. I LOVE this app it saved my life. I have been missing it very much since I switched to android. Got super excited when I saw it on here, but can't even use it 😔
Deided to try the app after not drinking for a few weeks and saw no options to record # of drinks for more than the current week. Couldn't go back to last week, last month. If there is a way to do that, it's not intuitive and dissuaded me from continuing with Reframe. If You're quiting today, give it a try, but was put off by the lack of simplicity with the calendar option to record past days, weeks, months.
I think it's helping (40 days now) Developing the habit of tracking intake has made me more aware of how much I drink and motivated me to drink less. I do wish that the tracking of progress was more flexible. The app forces you to define your drinking over weeks or months. No two work weeks are the same for me, I have a 4 on 4 off schedule, so no two 7 day weeks are the same. I would rather have a daily goal and be able to see my progress graphed accordingly
Absolutely LOVE this app!! Yes, I did do the 7-day trial, but bought the year at a 50% discount. Worth every penny. From the daily activities, to the journaling, the daily affirmations...everything about this app is wonderful. This isn't a STAY SOBER app, (it can be, if you choose that), but it helps build a different relationship with alcohol. Setting daily, weekly drink limits. I recommend 100% to anyone trying to get some control over something that at times, seems uncontrollable.
This review would've been higher, but there's no way for me to see my progress. I used Reframe for many months when I first stopped drinking. I got a different phone and because at the time they didn't have an Android app, I couldn't continue using it. now they finally got one, but I logged into my account and ALL of my milestones, everything I read and had bookmarked back then, are erased. I'm extremely disappointed, i waited so long to have an app by them setup for Android users
Misleading as it's only paid app. I'm fine with being charged for a service but don't make me set up a whole profile before you tell me the cost. Let users know the cost upfront so we can decide if we're going to purchase and then spend time setting it up. Super annoying when it's the other way around. 7 day trial not helpful as this would be a long term app, that's just the developer hoping you'll fail to cancel whether you use it or not. I don't support garbage practices like that.
Beyond impressed with the quality and quantity of data and how it's organized/drip fed to keep reducing your drinking at the top of mind. Some things I didn't expect that make the app 10x better - the level of community, the additional trainings you can take around exercise, nutrition, mental health etc, virtual meetings whenever you need one, and I could go on. This app has honestly has it all. It's not just an app, it's a full program to quit or reduce drinking
During the free trial period the app worked as it should. I really liked the daily lessons and learning what alcohol does to the mind. However, once the trail period was over and I paid for the subscription the app immediately locked me out of the daily lessons and nothing worked to fix it. The support team wasn't too worried about fixing the problem on the second day either as there was 0 communication from them. Hopefully I'll get my money back. Very disappointed.
The app is pretty great and offers good support options. The negative is you have to earn coins to access certain courses and "challenges" which kind of take away from you ability to learn at your own pace. In addition the app should allow you to back track your consumption entries on the calendar. I would like to have my tracked days in one place.
I like reframe as a program but the android app is terrible. Only a fraction of the content that is available on the apple version of the app is available on the Android app. The developers know this but have done nothing yet to fix it, yet the price is the same. For example, it's January and the only challenges I see are from last year (I.e. No dry January challenge)... Can't join the same groups, chats don't work right, toolbox has almost no content. Wish I realized this before being charged.
I love this app. I love the daily lessons with the mix of neurology, chemistry, psychology, and motivation. I also love the tracking of drinks (and associated costs such as cash and calories). The lack of pressure but instead guidance and encouragement works for me. I like that it is inspiring and thoughtful, with a clean pleasing look and great graphics. I enjoy using it. I don't use the social aspects much, so can't comment too much on that.
I have a hard time rating the Android app anything more than a 1 at this time. While I do enjoy reframe, I do not think it's right that I'm paying full price and don't have access to a good chunk of the features. When I can access everything the apple phones can, I'll consider changing my rating. For now, I'm disappointed. We never even got a dry January challenge, even though you said you were working hard to get it added. Just not impressed.
This app is honestly just confusing and hard to navigate. Its also buggy and keeps changing my AF date which is really important to get right. And it's hard to join groups because the join codes don't work - also why do I need a code in the first place? People/groups are also very clickish and literally exclude certain age groups. Not cool.
Ending my subscription after 2 years. The first year, Reframe was valuable in helping me alter my relationship with alcohol. However, this past year, the daily readings became less and less relevant to a cutback journey. Additionally, the app has quirks that they refuse to fix, such as zero punctuation when typing notes into it, which is just downright frustrating. The final straw was trying to use "rewards" to order apparel for which I got charged full $ anyway. No longer worth it.
This app has a great method for cutting back or cutting out alcohol. It is easy to switch from one pathway to the other, which I did. It held me accountable to myself and gave clear insights at each milestone of how I could feel at that stage. The lessons & workshops are invaluable, as is the Community. Sharing experiences, offering, requesting advice adds so much to the sometimes difficult time of changing our relationship with alcohol. A maintenance subscription should be offered at renewal.
Having trouble accessing group chats. I get the notification that someone in my group sent a message, but I open the chat and its empty. Please help! EDIT I was able to get the group chat working. Now, the "me" tab, it shows incorrect numbers for streak and days sober. I really do like this app, but just wish it would be more accurate.
