Reviews for RISE: Sleep Tracker

← Back to RISE: Sleep Tracker

App is great when I worked day shift, but when I switched to night shift, Rise was terrible. It's full of great info and I love how it calculated my daily energy rhythm which felt accurate. But there's no option to schedule my work which is out of my control. I know that night shift fights my natural sleep cycle but the app assumes I'm asleep if my phone doesn't move at night and there's no way to delete that assumed sleep. To add daytime sleep was a nightmare. Add more work options please.

App Doesnt Work Consistently. I have trouble sleeping and I thought tracking would help. I paid for the premium version of this app because I thought it would be worth it. The sleep tracking it unreliable. If I put my phone down for a few hours to watch tv or play video games, the app thinks I am sleeping at 4 pm! However, when I actually go to sleep, it doesn't track, and manual updates aren't working. I look at support articles for help and they all pertain to IOS. Im irked by this experience.

I looked into the oura ring but with this I don't have to buy the app. just not sure why I don't get any notifications, I have to open the app to see what my status is or check the widget. but I the energy dips and highs are pretty accurate so far! Edit: notifications are turned on, and they are still not coming through, also tried everything the developer emailed me. Uninstalled the app. No notifications! Sleep tracking is also inconsistent.

Having subbed for a while now, I find this useful largely as a sleep debt tracker. Unfortunately, it does a terrible job of backfilling missing entries from health tracker pipelines, and the manual entry feature is awkward, and yet should you successfully, yet incorrectly, use it, you'll find yourself yearning for its elegance once you try to edit your sleep timeline.

I'm glad to see that it helps some of you, but the formatting and editing options are just non-functional for me. I think I accidentally manually put in a sleep time on a wrong day, but I'll never know because there aren't any dates, only days of the week. I saw the trash can button, but it didn't work. When I tried to submit a ticket for it, my keyboard covered the entire text box, so I had to keep dropping my keyboard to make sure autocorrect didn't get me. Absolutely horrible.

They charged me early (about 12 hrs before the trial period was up, right before my alarm!) and then asked for documents that were never sent to me in order to get a refund. Needless to say I didn't get the refund. So now I'm out 60 dollars for an app that doesn't work for me. :/ Main problem is the notifications aren't consistent. I only get the morning ones. And the features I want aren't there. I do like the concept of the brain dump at the end of the day. But I don't get the notification.

This app has potential, but it keeps bugging out like crazy. It reads my sleep incorrectly and miscalculates my sleep debt. I had chosen the 0.99 cent trial until it charges me full price of 59.99, and I was willing to do it. But after my experience, I can't say it's worth it. I really hope they fix this app because I believe in it. I used to have it back in 2021 and it was great, but I think it's because I had an iPhone. I recently switched to Android so that might be the reason.

App does not work well. Notifcations came a day late, so it didn't help notify me on time. Doesn't work with my my fitbit app. Taking melatonin 4 hours before sleep does not work, since it's out of your body by then. It's very short acting. App is confusing and kind of dumb at the same time. I'll be deleting it. It's a good idea and was helpful to show when your body wants to be active or not. There is not much to recommend this app. There are better apps out there. I cancelled my payment.

Not for late chronotypes. This app seems suited for early chronotypes. seems to ignore that there are people who are late chronotypes. I don't have a morning peak, and if I did it would not be around 8am. I'm barely functional that early in the morning. I'm certainly not dipping at 1pm. That's actually a peak energy time. The only valuable insight I've gained has been that I'm not at all sleep deprived, even though the app insists I have a 12 hr sleep debt.

I hate that free apps are dead... this app very basically tracks your sleep and applies an algorithm to predict your energy peaks and dips. it's great but not anything special (not worth $5 a month) and relies too much on manual input. the notification system fails to motivate you to follow the schedule because it's just a basic notification system. I think it's a great concept with a lot of room for improvement. the paywall came too soon!! find out what services are really premium

Reminder to cancel did not work, nor would the app allow me to cancel the last day. I thankfully set my own reminder but the app kept glitching and freezing so I was not able to cancel on time. I have now been charged and would like a refund. Trying to figure out how to reach their support to ensure its canceled and a refund is on the way.

Seemed great but it's inaccurate. It only retrieved partial data claiming I slept significantly less than I did a night I in fact didn't sleep well. It is the equivalent of checking the weather all the time when you know you can trust your instincts and use whatever tracker you were already using (Fitbit for me). I like how this tracks your sleep deficit but it's not accurate so I have lost trust in them fully.

Updated review (JUN 2025): Connected app to third party app that connects to sleep data from my watch. Half of the time, this app still wouldn't pull the data despite my watch being connected 24/7. Twice I didn't notice and had to go back to input data for more than one week. This is annoying because I think I'm getting accurate data, but I'm not. Had paid for this, but cancelled it. Really wanted it to work and I'm sad it didn't.

I love this app and used it until I switched to a Galaxy watch. The Galaxy Watch just has to better features. What is a bummer is that this app doesn't work with Samsung Health. There is no sync in the data like with Fitbit. So I've had to cancel my subscription. I hope that someday you guys will integrate with Samsung. I really loved your app and it helped me a lot.

I totally wanted to like this app. However, I can't. I've tried it for almost a year. It's very inconsistent. It doesn't detect my sleep well on its own, often telling me my afternoon slump will hit within minutes of waking up, or telling me I need to go to sleep hours after I've already fallen asleep. It often doesn't sync properly with my Fitbit to record my actually sleep.

the only thing preventing it from being 5 stars and this is huge for me is syncing data with like a watch or ring. it doesn't always sync when you wake up. it would be nice if there was a way to manually sync in these instances. until that happens it's a very pricey mediocre sleep tracker that has great tips and great ideas just not great data collection

I like the idea but it's definitely just using some generic sleep data to energy trends. For me, this doesn't seem to work as it's often telling me I should be peaking when I feel ready to take a nap or tells me I should be in a slump when I'm being super productive. It also isn't very flexible with weekend plans. Some people do go to bed at 10:30 every night. I, am not one of them. It calculates bed times based on your last bedtimes, not on what may be best for you.

Thought I cancelled weeks ago but got charged today. I reinstalled the app just so I could cancel it. Turns out, cancelling requires you to email support. You can't do it from within the app. Update: They took care of the cancellation promptly. Because I did not feel the app was accurate for me personally, and the cancellation required an email to support in the first place, I can't give 5 stars, but I will raise it to 3.

Love the app. I used the trial period and my sleep debt in 1 week went from 13.5 to 3.6. Its nice being able to see that and realize I definitely have more energy and helps me keep accountable for going to sleep and working on getting enough. the only thing I don't like is the price. I shouldn't be charged 1 year up front. I would probably keep it if I was able to pay monthly vs. yearly.

Won't even open anymore, doesn't accurately track, unable to cancel subscription. Edit: Customer service / tech support was super prompt and helped me cancel the subscription within a couple of hours. Unfortunate that the app was so troublesome, but staff were on the ball. One star for the app, five for the service, averages to three overall.
