So here's my honest take on Backyard Baseball '97. I've tested a bunch of sports and strategy games, and this one's a pretty good mix of the two. The gameplay is simple enough that anyone can pick it up, but there's also a good amount of strategic depth with team building, power-ups, and managing your players. The graphics have held up really well too - the cartoony style is charming. My only real gripes are that the progression can get a bit grindy at higher levels, and the ads can be annoying if you don't pay. But overall, it's a fun little game that I've been enjoying for a while now.

Been playing Backyard Baseball ’97 for a couple months now. It’s basically a classic baseball game with a fun, cartoony twist. You build up your little league team, train your players, and then take on other teams in pickup games or a full season. There’s a ton of strategy involved, but it’s not super complicated – you can pick it up pretty quickly.

Here’s what you do: you start by building your roster from a bunch of kooky kid characters with their own personalities. Then you can practice batting and pitching, and eventually compete in games. There’s also a bunch of special power-ups you can use, like fireballs and super strength, which makes things pretty interesting.

Look, if you’re into old-school sports games, you’ll probably get a kick out of this. It’s not perfect – the upgrades take forever at higher levels and it can get a little repetitive after a while. But overall it’s a pretty solid and addictive game that’s worth checking out, especially since it’s free to play.
