Description
Been playing The Castles Of Burgundy for a couple months now. It’s basically a medieval-themed board game where you build up your own little village and trade resources with other players. Pretty solid app if you’re into strategy games.
Here’s what you do: you’ve got these two dice that determine what actions you can take each turn. You can use them to like, build houses, farm animals, research new technologies, and all sorts of stuff to try and get the most victory points. There’s also a clan feature where you team up with friends to raid other clans – that’s where it gets really fun. And the graphics are pretty nice, it runs smoothly even on my old phone.
Look, if you’re into this kind of strategy/building game, you’ll probably like The Castles Of Burgundy. It’s not perfect – the upgrades take forever at higher levels and it can get a little repetitive after a while. But overall it does the job and it’s free to play, so worth checking out.
Editor Opinion
So here's my honest take on The Castles Of Burgundy. I've tested a bunch of strategy games and this one's pretty solid. There's a ton of strategic depth with all the different ways to earn points, but it's not overwhelming. The clan battles are the highlight for me - it's really satisfying to team up with friends and take down other villages. The graphics are great too. The main downside is that the progression can get grindy at higher levels, and the ads can get annoying if you don't pay. But for a free game, it delivers a lot of content and I'd recommend it if you're into this genre.
