So here's my take on Golf Peaks. I've tested a bunch of puzzle games and this one's a pretty solid entry. The core golf-based mechanics are simple to learn but there's a good amount of strategic depth as you progress. The visuals and performance are great, even on older phones. And it's free to play, which is always nice. The main downside is that it can get grindy after a while, but if you're cool with that then this is a good pick.

Description

Been playing Golf Peaks for a couple months now. It’s basically a puzzle game where you use golf cards to navigate through mountainous levels. Pretty solid app if you’re into that kinda thing.

Here’s what you do: you start each stage with a selection of cards (strokes) – you pick the right one, choose a direction, and launch your ball towards the hole. There’s also a textless tutorial that teaches you the basics. And the 120+ handcrafted levels with bonus short courses provide a good amount of content and challenge.

Look, if you’re into relaxing puzzle games, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the upgrades can take forever at higher levels and it does get a bit repetitive after a while. But overall it’s a nice casual experience that’s worth checking out.
