Description
Been playing Yōdanji: The Roguelike for a couple months now. It’s basically a roguelike dungeon crawler where you can summon and trap all sorts of spooky cute yokai spirits. Pretty solid game if you’re into that kind of thing.
Here’s what you do: you explore randomly generated dungeons, fighting enemies and trying to summon more powerful yokai to put in your party. There’s also an online global leaderboard where you can compete with other players. Took me a while to get the hang of it, but the gameplay is really satisfying once you do.
Look, if you’re into roguelikes or yokai-themed games, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the upgrades can get grindy at higher levels – but overall it’s a fun time. Worth checking out, especially if you want something a little different from the usual RPG.
Editor Opinion
So here's my honest take on Yōdanji: The Roguelike. I've tested a bunch of roguelike games and this one's pretty solid. The spooky cute yokai theme is a nice change of pace, and the strategic dungeon crawling is challenging but not overly complex. In my experience, the gameplay loop of summoning new yokai and trying to push further into the dungeon is really addictive. It's not gonna blow you away, but it's a fun time-waster that I've been enjoying.
