So here's my honest take on Game Dev Story. I've tested a bunch of simulation games and this one's pretty solid. The strategic depth is great without being overwhelming, and the graphics look awesome even on older phones. The best part is it's free to play and you really don't need to spend money to enjoy it. But it does have its downsides - the progression can get grindy at times and the ads can be annoying if you don't pay. Overall though, I'd say it's one of the better simulation games out there.

Description

I’ve been playing Game Dev Story for a couple months now. It’s basically a simulation game where you build up your own game company and try to create a hit video game. Pretty solid app if you’re into that kind of stuff.

Here’s what you do: You hire staff, develop games, and try to climb to the top of the industry. And there’s also the ability to create your own game console, which is pretty cool. And you can change your staff members’ professions – took me a while to figure that out but it’s a useful feature.

Look, if you’re into strategy and simulation games, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the upgrades take forever at higher levels and it can get a bit repetitive after a while – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you’re looking for an addictive time-killer.
